Anyone catch this afternoon's Futbol Mundial (Galavision)? It featured segments on Lucio, Dynamo Zagreb, and the San Jose Earthquakes.

Didn't understand a whole lot of the Spanish, but they opened the piece with the two Quakes goals from MLS Cup 2001 and two of the four from MLS Cup 2003. Each was followed by shots of Agoos lifting the trophy.

Most of the footage was from La Manga. Showed some game action, the team wearing silly orange caps in an indoor pool, and Landon lifting weights to perfect his abz. Included excerpts of interviews with Kinnear, Agoos, and Donovan.

Of course, there was the obligatory mention of Freddy Adu and commentary by Agoos about the pros and cons of such a young kid turning pro.

Good feature on the Quakes. Usually the show is repeated the same week, but my TiVo doesn't list another one until next Saturday.

I saw this too. Not a bad segment, Futbol Mundial has had two American related episodes in a row because the last epsode featured Clint Mathis in Hanover.

Futbol Mundial was once broadcast on Fox Sports Net in English, but oddly no more. Instead we have Football Asia. Wonder why Fox dropped a good show. It would be nice to see it return.

It seems that with the start of 2004 came the end of Fox Sports World broadcasting both Fútbol Mundial and TransWorld Sport. :(

          GO EARTHQUAKES!!!

Maybe it was too expensive for Fox/Sky to continue doing the show in English. (Not that that makes sense, since most of it already is in English.) Beats me. I will have to call a Spanish-speaking buddy over to give me a run down.
