What is this award for? Jimmy should be up for: most likey to get a yellow and kick Cobi Jones' @$$. Broccoli Dolores
DOTY: Definitely not Bocanegra GK: Since the other two didn't make the playoffs, Cannon on that alone. Humanitarian: Diego Serna, thank you for tearing your ACL.
Oh, I like it, I like it. Is there a possibility that if the league doesn't fund this award, we, the fans, could? It could be called the "Kick the Jerk" award.
lmao, this one has got my vote. And yeah I was wondering what the humanitarian award was for. I guess its like the Roberto Clemente award in baseball, given to the player who does the most for his community. Does Jimmy do alot of charity work?
k good, well maybe I'll get to see 3 earthquakes get awards at the ceremony. PLus however many is on the 11 best MLS players team.
That is correct. Like Ringo mentioned about the youth programs, he's also active in cancer research. He lost his stepfather 2 years ago. For the newbies, it was worth noting that before he passed on, Jimmy Conrad was given a chance to play in a game where he normally would have been serving a red card suspension. He was allowed to play, and his stepfather pass away a short time later. He did subsequently serve the suspension, and if I recall it was against Los Angeles.
Bet on it! He had a red card May 20, 2000 against KC. He was supposed to sit out the May 27, 2000 game against Los Angeles, but switched it to the August game so that his near death stepfather could see the game. Had Conrad sat out as required, an opportunity would have been missed--he died a short time afterward. Cautions: 1999: 4 2000: 6 2001: 2 2002: 9 Ejections: 2000: 1
Re: Re: Quakes nominated for MLS awards We need to see games played/started and minutes to compare to the bookings.
Wow, thats cool that the league gave him permission to do that. Really nice gesture. And thats quite a jump in cautions, from 2-9 in one year. I guess it kind of summarizes our year. Hopefully he's not doing anything with anger management as his charity. No telling what would happen then. It would be pandemonium

I want to know who the hell picked the fair play team award. And on what fishin basis!!!! KC????!!!!! Those fishers made a boy cry cuz they were beating up on the Quakes. What the fish kinda drugs is MLS dishin out?? I'm getting closer and closer to not renewing my season tickets next year. I'm sick of the damn bullfish that's being dished out by MLS. Ben Olsen wins, no season tickets next year for me!
They add up all of the caution points earned by each team, and the one with the lowest total wins the award.
I betcha if they tok away all the caution points accumulated by Jimmy and Edie then we would have won it....
Oh I see. And that's only for MLS games too I suppose. I guess physically brawling after an Open Cup match doesn't carry any caution points.
Looks like Chung is a wussie. Chung got the individual Fair Play award. Jolley got the Humanitarian of the Year. Those were my two picks!! Not bad so far.... It's comeback player I'm waiting for. I know who's gonna win, but he most certainly isn't my pick!
The MetroStars should have been given the Humanitarian award for keeping themselves out of the playoffs.
