Now I'm stunned and VERY worried....

But first, I would like to wish Johnny all the best and heartfelt thanks for the wondeful job he did and for the hours of excitment and enjoyment he brought us culminating in our Championship this year. Thanks Johnny and best wishes for the future.

    Who knows what this portends.

Hopefully the "personal reasons" are just that, "personal", and not too serious to boot.

I don't want to think of either alternative.

    ??

Is this the begining of the end. Are we now just gonna be another Mexican team in the MLS. Don't get me wrong, I myself am latino, but please, we don't need America in San Jose. Tell them to go to Houston. Wow, I hope that this offseason will turn out a bit better than it has already. We'll miss you Johnny.

P.S...... Do you think that he stepped down knowing something about the club that we don't know (AMERICA YUK!)

Who knows what to think now. One thing's for sure: this isn't going to help off season ticket sales.

But there should be a spate of articles in the local papers tomorrow which may or may not enlighten us.

Wow, this could be another nightmare offseason.

I was just remembering the KC playoff game, when Donovan scored the golden goal, Johnny Moore sprinted down the ramp in his coat and tie to get onto the field to celebrate with his team. I hope his successor brings the same level of committment to the job.

Man, this adds a bit of weight to the Club America rumor. Geez, my season tix are already bought... Should be interesting.

However, if we get a better stadium out of it, I can't say I'm unhappy. Spartan Stadium is embarrassing.

Read Johnny's post, and then read between the lines. This, on top of the Club Am business, is giving me a verrrrry creepy feeling. I'm going with my gut on this one, and my gut is asking for a double dose of Maalox.

If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with Club America (not much of a limb I'm out on). They probably want their own guy in there for the draft.

Thanks Johnny for all your great years of service. I know you read these things and hope you can give everyone here an update on the future of the San Jose Earthquakes. I personally sold over fifteen new season ticket holders because of the great product you produced. Now however, I'm scared as hell this great playoff run will not translate to higher attendance without you at the helm.

    shocking news

Unfortunately, I don't think he wanted to go. Johnny is as much a fan of the Quakes as we are (we all saw his reaction to Landon's goal against KC). I don't think he'd leave voluntarily

    This is a sad day

    my gut instinct

my gutt tells me that jonny moore was caught off guard about selling the quakes to club america, and that he was not happy about the club being sold, name change, or that they wanted their own man in.

in all the quake and league press releases, it made it seem that jonny moore was in charge and was leading the quakes into the draft, then this whole club america mess hits the papers, and bam, jonny moore resigns for "personal reasons"

something is fishy. and im sure we will soon find out.

Has anyone ever thought of moving our home to Santa Clara University?
In the next few years to come they will be moving their baseball field to a new location and leaving Buckshaw Stadium solely for the purposes of the beautiful game. Let's renovate that stadium, strike a good deal with Santa Clara which is a soccer specific school with a winning heritage. Spartan's surroundings are dark, unattractive, poor site lines for fans and tv, and a small pitch with team dugouts. Dugouts? I want to see when Dominick is upset.

For goodness sakes look at how many players Santa Clara has provided MLS. There is already a relationship. Not ot metion there is also the train station right across the street. Think of all the outside supporters that could easily come in together on the train or bus lines from around the bay area.

How about it. Somene let the new manager in on this.

Apparently, you need to translate your request to Spanish first.
