    I'm going.

I'm staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Norwood, which is pretty close to Foxboro. The Supporters Summit is going on in Norwood. I'll be at the Supporters Bash in Providence on Saturday night.

I think that the Club Quake tickets are in section 126. It's the section in the corner on the opposite end zone of the field from the Fort. We have some extra tickets in our section (see my post in the sticky thread for details if you need tickets) and if we don't sell them, there will be a few extra seats for Quake fans to move into if you don't like your current seats.

    hey 1bri,

it is being broadcast on the radio, but i'm not sure what station. here's a link to the story i saw about it. i perused it very quickly and didn't see a specific station, but a little homework should dig it up. you always could have it taped as well. it's on abc starting at 10:30am our time.

those are their affiliates, so does that mean those are the stations that will play the game? If so, which one would work driving from Manteca to San Jose?

I just got back. I don't remember why I was so pissed off when Andy took that picture of me. Musta been the beer. At least I didn't get caught in mid-bite like Noah.

Anyways, it was a good trip, except for the final result of course. The Revs fans know how to put on a tailgate, I took notes for next year.

What exactly is the Supporters Summit? What does that trophy (shield?) represent?

first, hats off to andy. the guy was a dervish all weekend, snapping photos...don't know how he found time to enjoy himself. we need to discuss andy's journalistic objectivity, however: why the 96,000 photos of the (admittedly very attractive) galaxy fan? fact remains her club are still wankers!
second, bill is right: props to the riders for a great tailgate!!! still, bill'll always be the grillmaster to us quakes nuts. and i happily note that i managed to stay out of any photos; partly due to necessity (my image doesn't show up on film), but also because MLS strives to be family-oriented, and i happen to be child-frighteningly homely.
to yalpstel, i have to say i give credit to garber for this. the supporters summit is a yearly exercise, wherein we (there but for the grace of god, and a few altered chromosomes, we'd have all been speaking klingon..let's face it folks: we're just a different brand of geek) get to have a q&a with the commish of our league. i don't pretend to know what effect it has, but it is nice, even if only lip service to the true fans (maybe i'm being a tad too cynical here). the supporters shield (and PLEASE correct if i'm mistaken) was thought up by the diehards in the early years of the league, and the shield itself was brought to fruition by KC's sam pierron (who is DAMN funny, btw). as a nod to the rest of the world, less "playoff" obsessed than we are, it goes to the fans of the team which finishes with the most points from the regular season. it should have (expletive deleted, expletive deleted) been (expletive deleted) ours this year....

Thanks Ross. Who else attends on MLS's behalf? Browsing the pics, I see an awful lot of suits. Is there a transcript of the Q and A? It would be interesting to know, league wide, what the fans are asking and more interestingly, MLS's response.

(and btw in your defense, klingons, uh, geeks, er, I mean soccer fanatics are people too!)

no comment from ME on that pic!!! i choose to note that this is indeed the very attractive galacto-puke fan i was referring to, reiterate that her club are STILL wankers, and thereafter leave her alone.
yalpstel, i must cede to the "notetakers" at the summit. did anyone from our quakes contingent take notes? if not, i'd look up evan whitney of the midnight riders. he was taking notes like a madman, and is a delightfully devoted soccer fan. i'd expect that the midnight riders will post a catchall summary of all the goings-on. in any case, i was doped up on sudafed (i had a cold...and "doped up" is a really good way to deal with new england traffic!!!), so my memory is not to be trusted. ...and anyway, my notes would not show up on film. ;-P
p.s. i am neither a klingon nor a "people." geek? well, yeah...i'm that.
