This would have been a good game to get time for Wondolowski, but Dom decided to take Russell instead. Oh well.

Hudson's going on about how San Jose is standing around too much, and I definitely agree. In the last possession, there were 3 guys in the middle of the field standing within 10 yards of each other.....Chung, DeRo, and Mullan I think. Chung wants to keep playing in the middle, and we need someone out wide to spread out the defense.

Russell isn't on the bench as a sub either......surprising.

No idea.....he had to figure it would be hard to score on the road, but I guess the last two games faked him out and he expected the Quakes to continue to be able to score.

Its pretty frustrating, we are reacting to everything, there is nothing proactive going on out there from the guys in white.

Yeah, if Dom had anticipated being down 0-2, he might've done that. Since he was probably counting on a closer match, he went with the veteran. As you say, oh, well. It's hard to second guess Dom this season.

I'm not even tripping on this potential loss much. It's not a conference opponent, all good runs have to end at some point, and we've got the cRapids next. The biggest downside is the Gals get the Goats tomorrow.

You aren't missing much. Think Quakes circa 2000.

Goal United......total collapse by the defense here. DeRo gives the ball away to start a break, and Gomez finishes it off.

I just dont think it was good contingency planning. He has 2 defenders and a defensive mid on the bench. Id like to see at least 2 attacking options on the bench, and I find it debateable that Russell is an attacking option.

    Gosh, darnit!

My feed died too, but the way this game is going, it was probably for the best.

Still, it's pissing me off not knowing what's going on.

If anything, I would have thought Chung or DeRo would be first to come off.

This really is a WTF kind of performance by Dom. Hell have them, he tends to let things try to correct themselves. Just a lot of things are coming to a head here.

    1) No back to the goal forward.

    2) Chung tends to dissapear, and Mullan doesnt have his explosiveness back.

    3) Long road trip.

    4) Opponents 5 man midfield.

From what I can tell they werent even suffocating us with pressure... guys were just standing around and not moving. There is literally noone to pass to for our guys, no one making runs, and no forward to play off of. And no energy.

Yay. To top it off, Califf got the yellow he sorely needed to avoid.

Chung served a ball across the top of the box and he can't reach it...he goes with his left foot instead of his right foot, or he might have had a wide open shot.

And then Califf gets a yellow, now he'll have to sit out against Colorado.

After Adu got fouled, then Cerritos got fouled. He was babbling out black boys getting hit or something in was in 69 min.
