The official centipede password, eh! Maybe something like, "We love Lalas?"

Yeah if we can get a mass e-mail out to everyone.
Isn[t there a Club Quake Meeting on the 25th or thereabouts? I think we should just have the meeting right after the Club Quake meeting since everyone's already there. What do you think??

    The 26th.
I can meet right afterwards, but I can't stay to long. I gotta get back to Oakland for poker night! :)

I can't be there for the meeting, but I'd love to be in the centipede.

Check out the 20th post on this thread (pg. 2) to get on Openthegate's e-mail list.

That should go for everyone else too.

I will have sign up sheet for anyone who wants to do the centipede at the Chivas USA game this Saturday. It'll be at the Epicenter tailgate. (We're the group drinking tequila next to Club Quake. This is only to see if we have enough people to do the Centipede. If we don't get enough people to sign up it obviously won't happen and I'll be able to sleep in. On the signup sheet there's a space for your e-mail so I can contact you on whether or not we do it. Below is a draft of what I'm envisioning.

    Bay to Breakers
    Earthquakes Centipede

    Objective:
Take the BAQF (Big Ass Quakes Flag) through the streets of San Francisco and have fun doing it.

In order to do this we need enough Quakes fans who will commit to doing this. Without enough people this will not happen.

We will need enough people to hold the BAQF and some Casbah drummers marching with us. I know Guy said his drum is too big and that everyone else’s drum is smaller. (yeah, whatever man!!) We need to think abut how we will hold the BAQF. I’ve never gotten a good close look at it. It’d be nice if we could hold it up with having our arms up in the air the whole time. I know that will get rather tiresome.

I can bring my music along. I have two portable power sources and I can play like I normally do at the tailgate parties.

The starting point is at Howard and Spear and Crap!! I’m at Starbucks typing this and I forgot to bring my San Francisco map with me. Well, we’ll find out where to meet later.
Some of you may decide to get a hotel. Just make sure you get one near Howard and Spear. Don’t forget the night before the game is a home game so don’t burn yourself out. I might just leave the game a little early. It’s only Kansas City!!

We don’t necessarily have to start on time. By the time the race winner finishes (either Guy or Ruben) people are still leaving the finish line. We can start near the back of the pack so we don’ get so crowded.

In order to make ourselves more visible we should all wear our favorite color, BLUE!!!

We will establish a few contact people for the morning of the race so we all know who’s doing what and where.

Not to put a damper on this, but a reality check.

Keep in mind this is the morning (and I mean morning) after the FC Dallas game. Don't sign up if you'll flake. That flag's too f***ing heavy for two people to carry across The City. :)

You can count me in for this one.
I mean, I am not really up to participating in the race, but I definitely can drink all night long.

Count me in. I'll get at least one of my brothers also. We should unveil the flag at the start to get some air time. Remember this is Uncle Phil's favorite race.

The only way we can get a centipede is by running a banner that's flag size--it's light and can accomodate at least 4 people... or have at least two (one blue and one white with the Quakes crest) stitched together... the BAQF is just too huge to run from the side of the bay to the Pacific Ocean...

    ----
I'm up for some all night drinking, and playing a marathon of old punk/metal classics... :D

Okay I did a little test after the game, and we're gonna need much more than 10 folks to carry the BAQF. Damn, that's thing's bigger than I realized.

Now's the time to get in touch with Luis if you want to take part:

E-mail me your info at luis.cuellar@acwd.com:
    Name
    Big Soccer name
    Telephone with area code
    Home address

    Bumpity!

This is coming up in a couple of weeks. Remember to write Luis if you're interested.

This is non-competitive, hell, we probably won't reach the Hayes Street Hill. Just a fun way to try and get some publicity :)

Just bumping this up to remind those who still want to participate as well as post the latest information. I think this could be alot of fun, especially if we beat dallas ...

    From Luis Cuellar:

This is my final story and I'm sticking to it.
Guy can you send this to The Casbah mailing list. I'll have Carol send it to the Club Quake mailing list.
