It just hit me.....it's probably Q......terrifying small children throughout the bay area.

Probably because it takes time for our F/O to get information like that to the league's web operator to translate it into the Quakes' site. That's what happens when you relinquish local control of the website to a central scrutinizer.

I heard the ad on KNBR and it DID mention the San Jose Earthquakes along with the A's & Warriors, not bad. I just hope they send a player or two with the Tremor Girls and/or the Blue Crew.

Yeah, not many posters have picked up on that. It's probably because they go only to MLSnet and their own team's sites, otherwise you would notice they're all clearly at least formatted centrally.

Looking at the fair's site, it's doubtful any athletes will be there. Probably marketing people letting kids kick a ball. I'll take whatever exposure they can muster.

    This seems to indicate otherwise:

Action Zone Locker Room provides an area where Bay Area professional and collegiate athletes will be able to make appearances, interact with the crowd, pose for pictures, and sign autographs

If I were Prez of the Quakes I'd make this event a big deal. There will be a lot of people there, including a lot of soccer playing kids. Make it fun and make the connection.

Bring in the local hero, Troy Dayak, since he is hurt and won't be traveling with the squad to LA anyway. Troy's a "team" guy and I'll bet he'd do it!

I went on the 4th. It was awful. The whole sports area was pretty dismal. Only NASCAR was drawing any sort of crowd. Opportunity lost.

Hmmm. . .Up until now I haven't been too worried about all of the "Quakes to Relocate"-type stories. But if the Quakes start appearing at various County Fairs, a la Chaka Khan, Tower of Power, the Commodores, et. al., well, now I AM starting to worry a bit!!
