I got to visit with Kamara and Cochrane at the A's Fan Fest and got to pick up a Quakes' tryout tour jersey. I asked Cochrane if the Quakes were planning on holding open practices and he said that he thinks that will be case and that because of the construction going on at Buck Shaw, the practices will be held at the 49ers headquarters/practice facility. Practices are suppose to start Feb. 4th.

Here you go. If you notice a small stain in the middle of the jersey, that's buffalo wing sauce.

The ticket reps that were there were selling the blue jersey (and black version) for $20. If you're interested, I'm sure your ticket rep will let you know how to get one.

I'm still getting the new Quakes game jersey once it's available, but I wanted something to wear to the pre-season games since my wife has already taken ownership of the 'Return of the Quakes' t-shirt I got when we got season tickets. I will add that she did get Kamara and Cochrane to sign the t-shirt. :D

At the CYSANorth expo yesterday, the Quakes were selling those tryout tour jerseys, a black t-shirt with the updated logo, and some leftover hats with the 2000-2005 logo. Oddly, they weren't taking credit cards, which prevented me from doing some damage to my debt level. ;)

Supposedly the new jerseys and merchandise will be available March 1.

There were reps in other booths at the Expo wearing the new home and road jerseys, and they look better in person than on mock ups. A little busy for my tastes, perhaps better than expected.

Troy Dayak was at the Expo also for Dayak's Den, his soccer shops.

    Oooo, good stuff, Tony!

As I posted in another thread, I visited the Quakes' FO on Friday during a break in my workday and met my rep (Megan Minnick.) I asked that same question about merchandise availability and she showed me the black t-shirts (of which I bought 3) and I also found out they can't take credit cards...not yet, anyway. Fortunately, I stumbled upon an ATM at the Bank of America when I walked over to The Shaw to check out the view from my seats.

Sounds like the Quakes are in for a rather sizable windfall come March when the jerseys come out! :D Also, thanks for the review of the jerseys based on our first eyewitness account. That's good to know!

Watching the tube last night, I was a bit surprised to see that the A's are going to have black jerseys this year. What other team do we know of that had some other colored jerseys but will now have black? I also got a kick out of the fact that one of the anchors, who could be an A's fan, said she didn't like the black at all and that they should go back to green. Her opinions were quite similar to what I see in these threads.

LOL. This "black jersey" thing sure is polarizing, isn't it?

Maybe the one, major "plus" about wearing black jerseys that is being overlooked by our beer-guzzling lot is that black is slimming. ;):D

The difference is that black was always a Quakes color. I recall the Sharks taking shit for it when they introduced their third jerseys and I had to remind all the dunces "THE SHARK IN THE LOGO WAS ALWAYS BLACK." The A's are just going the Mets route. Neither ever had black.

As an A's fan I have to agree. I'm not a fan of the new black jerseys for the A's either. But I think she's wrong about their use. The A's still have their long time home whites, gray aways, and green alternates too. The Black is just a 4th jersey option not unlike the black 4th jersey the team had in 2000. It'll likely be worn on the occasional home game until they decide it sucks again and then it'll vanish just like the last black one did.
