More... The kit includes black shorts and blues socks, both inspired by the Cup-winning side 20 years prior. You will also see Conrad, Corrales and Ibsen with the new jersey. https://www.sjearthquakes.com/firststar
The jersey now just needs its sleeve sponsor(s) and it'll be complete. Nonetheless, I need to start saving up now for one or two new authentic San Jose Earthquakes primary jerseys, my first since 2016. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I checked Reddit and I think some of them changed their minds after seeing the actual game jersey vs the replica. The game jersey has details that make the whole thing better.
I dig the new jersey, and notice that the official version does have the two stars!! BUT!! What I really want to know is when do we start playing preseason games, and who are we playing against? I see that some other MLS teams are using the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson and I at least sort of wish that our guys would go back there. (I have a long-time soft spot for Tucson.) But the important thing is to start practice, and get in some games against quality competition before the start of the season. Go Quakesfans!! - Mark
Maybe all local, so cheap and easy to bring in?[emoji2371] Is DeRo in Canada right now? Travel restrictions could have been a problem if that is the case.
Seems like Almeyda likes beach training, so they are going to Santa Barbara. There are direct flights from there to Phoenix though.
With the shorts and sock color combo, the look is very good. Clean and simple, I think I'm gonna have to actually buy a jersey this time instead of sweaters, shirts, etc.
Yeah, don't even need an MLS Cup replica. Just have him wearing the shirt. Looks like they shipped Jimmy's shirt (from his video). Not sure where he lives.
The video was made by the social media staff, which is local. We shouldn't expect them to farm out content creation to retired players. One of the social media videos the Quakes posted showed them pressing the numbers for all of the 2001 players, including the late Junior Agogo, and I would guess that they shipped them to the old players.
Jimmy lives in the Bay Area. He's the head coach and technical director of the San Francisco Glens in USL League Two.
Also, an interesting side effect of the cleaner jersey design template compared to the last one is that the jersey sponsor's wordmark was now able to be raised a bit and no longer looks noticeably too low (we'd already seen it with the GK's jerseys last season, but now the whole team benefits from it). GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I don't know, a purple Almeyda sweater would be pretty sweet. Maybe he can toss them into the crowd after games?
Wonder what they pay him for that job? I can't imagine its enough to earn a living in the Bay Area....
You know there are people out there who have partners and two incomes, right??? I believe his wife is pretty high up on the corporate ladder...
Also, he played, what 12 years in the league + 27 caps? He probably made a couple of million in salary, maybe? He was one of the higher paid players in the league at one point. Hopefully he invested wisely.
