Clock is ticking towards the start of the season so let’s discuss the preparations. No Reno to play this year, so it’s likely the Quakes will try to get a game with Sac Republic or Oakland. Who else I wonder? Also, I think Yuiell and Marchinski could both be away with Olympic qualifying so that’s not good. Throw in Calvillo (possibly Fuentes?) with El Salvador and that’s a chunk of the team not training in Almeyda’s high fitness preseason. Are there international dates that will take away more guys like Lopez?
Does it really matter? With an almost utter lack of activity in the player acquisition space while the (few) teams below us on the table restocking with fresh talent we are going to suck like a dyson.
Not true! As long as you aren't cheering for the Quakes, it will be very enjoyable to watch Vega and JT picking up all those balls from the back of the net...
We desperately need some acquisitions post haste. We are razor thin, and not so great even at full strength.
only wish I could rep this more. I loved the Ramones, saw them six times over the years including this 1984 show in LA.
we're going to need this guy to be the second coming of Lionel Messi if we hope to avoid wooden spoon honors.
we're going to need him to be Vako, Eriksson & Hoesen all wrapped up in one potent offensive juggernaut.
One of the perplexing things to me is the fact that the Quakes had their strongest academy showings in team history last year but have not signed a single homegrown player in 2020 or 2021. As a matter of fact, they traded away a homegrown in Nick Lima. The U-15s finished runners up in the China preseason tournament to FC Zenit (whom the beat in group play). The U-17s had qualified for the quarterfinals in the DA Cup Tournament, they were qualified in the Generation Adidas Tournament and had a chance to top the Northwest DA division and play in the DA playoffs. A shot at 4 championships if not for Covid. The U-19s also had their best results despite missing Fuentes for most of the games and Akanyinge, Cowell only there about half the time. Heck, Damian Alguera is in the El Salvador Olympic training camp as a U-17 player. That’s playing six years up! He could even play against Yuiell and Marchinski.
In Mexico they call this guy 'Daugwee'. Pronounced 'Dogwee'. Because he is a short fat baludo. He looks like a bulldog but plays like a chihuahua.
In this pic, with the bangs and the physique and everything, he looks like an 8th grader who hasn't outgrown his baby fat . But hey, let's see how he plays...honestly, I want to give him a chance. He's going to have to work his butt off to play Almeyda's style in MLS.
Terrific, just wonderful. This is the guy that's going to restore our team? God knows we're going to suck hot farts this year.
Having seen him many times, he is not the savior. He will do some good, a shit ton of questionable, and often fu*k it up. He is not a high press player, he's not a work horse.he can have a chance but I already know he sucks. His first game he will look good because he's fresh and new, we all hype, then over the season he will dip in form. He's better then Rios though.
