What happened to www.quakefans.com? I tried it a few minutes ago and it didn't pop up. Anyone know what happened?
The site "ended" a few months ago... I'm going to let the principals (sjfuture) speak on this, most likely offline. What I can say is that there were issues regarding information but that's the size of it there. There might be more, but again, sjfuture ran the site and only he knows... As for me, wished the site was still up... there needs at least to be some various websites posting Quake information, and right now the only sites that are dedicated to the team are http://www.clubquake.org, http://www.thecasbah.org (which too was down for a few days last year but casbahman had a change of heart and kept it going), and http://www.quakemagic.com
Y'know I was just thinking about this the other day. As Nap alluded to, there were certainly some issues with quakefans.com but thankfully most of them have been resolved. During it's 3/4 season existence, quakefans proved very popular with fans and players, with alot of the guys offering articles and interviews. I am going to resurrect the site before the season starts but I could use some help, particularly with match reports and interviews. If you'd like to work on the site, let me know. Thanks for your interest guys, it is much appreciated.
That site had some really good writers (game previews/reviews, interviews, columns, etc.). Too bad it hasn't been up lately.       I'm glad to hear that it'll be up again soon, though.       GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
be nice to get the site rolling again... this time, a photo album and some columns would be good... let us know when it gets back up... thanks!
A photo album?       It already had some columns... you probably mean more columns.       GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Action photos, shots of the fans, exclusive stuff and the like except it's for the site... Andy and Wade's site is very good at that area, but this is just Quakes... Maybe a few more... the reporters need to get inside the team to access and gain information, while the columnists just need to write, write, write... Cheers!
Well it's official, quakefans.com will be back in February. But I do need reporters and columnists so if you're interested in doing some interviews or writing a column, please PM me or email me at ahunter@haebc.com Thanks for the interest and support folks, it means alot. Even Landon emailed me asking why there wasn't a quakefans.com "Fans Player of the Year" Award for the 2002 season, though I think he just fancied his chance for the back to back
Alex check your email. (also for the fans, there are no plans whatsoever to try and create a section reminiscent of the Everton fans site. However, it would be great to see some goal scoring clips--maybe link from the MLS site if some agreement can be made... there are some great goals from last season that's worth seeing...) Maybe, once the site is back online try to vote for the 2002 player before the season starts so we can get that out of the way. Cheers!
