I'll be in London for this one and don't know if I'll be able to hit the internet next week, so I thought I'd do as much as I could of the normal thread now...
    ------
    As of 21 November
    1. QPR -- 9-7-2, +18, 34 Points
    14. Sheffield Wednesday -- 6-6-6, 0, 24 Points
    ------
    29 November
    Loftus Road
    ------

    Rangers news:

Marc Bircham will have to sit out after earning his fifth yellow of the season. Rose is definitely out, while Furlong is thought, a week out, to possibly be able to take a place on the bench.

    The opponent:

Wednesday is hosting Luton Town on 22 November. Their five league matches before that one:

    15/11 Colchester 3-1 Wednesday
    01/11 Wednesday 0-1 Blackpool
    25/10 Bristol City 1-1 Wednesday
    22/10 Wednesday 1-3 Plymouth
    18/10 Wednesday 0-0 Rushden & Diamonds

The Owls also defeated Salisbury 4-0 in the FA Cup and Barnsley 1-0 in the LDV in that stretch, both at home.

    The series:

Wednesday leads with 24 wins. There have been 9 draws and QPR has 15 wins.

Wednesday took both meetings in the First Division in 00/01. The teams split, each winning away, in the Premier League in 95/96. QPR won both Premier League meetings in 94/95, while Sheffield Wednesday swept us in three (2 Premier League and a League Cup) in 93/94.

    The referee:

Not posted on the Football League website as of 21 November.

Fantastic day in the Bush. Here are the stats from BBC Sport...

    QPR 3-0 Sheffield Wed

QPR cemented their place at the top of Division Two with a convincing victory over struggling Sheffield Wednesday.

The leaders turned on the style in a one-sided first half, with Steve Palmer heading home Gino Padula's inswinging corner.

QPR secured the points late on when Tony Thorpe headed home Padula's corner.

And substitute Kevin McLeod slotted in a third in injury-time.

QPR: Day, Forbes, Carlisle, Shittu, Padula, Ainsworth, Palmer, Bean, Rowlands, Thorpe, Gallen.
Subs: Culkin, Pacquette, McLeod, Edghill, Furlong.

Sheff Wed: Pressman, Bromby, Lee, Dean Smith, Wood, Mustoe, Haslam, Barry-Murphy, Reddy, Owusu, Proudlock.
Subs: Poulter, Holt, Beswetherick, NDumbu-Nsungu, Wilson.

It was a great day in the Bush. We are top of the league!

It was good to see you, Kev, if only at halftime and for a brief moment before the match. I headed over to the BR from the WH at around 8, I think, but you were gone. Richard was still there with the Swedes, but was heading out too, so I turned in.

Padula was exceptional, I thought. Wednesday's (injury depleted) midfield was severly outclassed, making for a relatively easy day for Daysie and the boys at the back, as Wednesday wasn't often able to get itself into dangerous spots.

We were much the better side on the day and while two of our goals came late, I think the final result surely reflected the play on the pitch.

My parents really enjoyed the atmosphere and the view so close to the pitch (we were in Row D of the Lower Loft).

Both of the matches I've attended this year have been 3-0 wins, but more importantly, they've both provoked Holloway's "winning is like pulling a bird" commentary -- the first classic quotes came after the Chesterfield match and then on Saturday he came out with "She was a bit better looking this week, don't you reckon?" ;)

Good catching up with you mate. Sorry about the BR - I was done early and to the train home. I know with the way we're playing this season, you'll be back often. Just let me know about the next time (after this LDV trip) you'll be here and the first rounds on me at the White Horse.

I sure will. No worries about the BR -- I didn't intend to stay at the WH that long, but we just got to chatting and the time got away and by the time I realized it and finished up my pint of "rubbish" (as the cask ale is seemingly not-so-affectionately known), it was 8.

Right now, I'm trying to decide between flying east for QPR/Brighton and flying west for US/Denmark on the 17/18 January weekend.

I forgot to mention, in addition to meeting Lloydy (sp?), he introduced me to several the Swedish Hoops as well as to Bill Power. I had a nice, long chat with Bill, who was great. Hope to get a chance to catch up with him again.

Yep - Bill is a good guy to know. Club wise - and in general (of course). Too bad you didn't get the chance to meet him with us in DC last year.
