Fitz Hall comes off. Michael Mancienne comes on. Mancienne goes to right back, so Connolly moves inside to partner Stewart.
Stewart is off and receiving treatment. He is carried away on a stretcher with a blanket over him. Not good. Keiran Lee comes on. He goes to right back and Mancienne moves inside to partner Connolly. D'oh! Ephraim is on the bench.
3 minutes to go in our game. Stoke is 3-1 up against Preston. Burnley has taken a 2-1 lead at Coventry.
Final sub for the R's -- Hogan Ephraim makes his first appearance since making his permanent move to the R's. Dexter Blackstock comes off. Ephraim goes to a wide midfield spot, so I guess Vine will move up top.
Palace is leading Bristol City, 2-0. That'll be 15 unbeaten for Palace and will move them to within 4 points of Bristol City, who entered the day in 2nd place.
Our games moves into stoppage time. Rowlands sent another shot over the bar. West Brom scored again, so has come from 1-3 down to 3-3 at home against Cardiff.
QPR 2-0 Barnsley FULL TIME Fairly dominant performance. Almost no chances for Barnsley. The R's could easily have scored more. Excellent stuff from the R's.
Blackpool 1 : 1 Ipswich Colchester : Hull -- POSTPONED -- pitch was waterlogged and it continued to rain -- match called about 2 hours before kick off Coventry 1 : 2 Burnley Crystal Palace 2 : 0 Bristol City Norwich 0 : 0 Leicester Plymouth 1 : 1 Southampton QPR 2 : 0 Barnsley Scunthorpe 0 : 2 Wolverhampton Sheff Wed 2 : 0 Sheff Utd Stoke 3 : 1 Preston Watford : Charlton Kick Off 5:20 pm West Brom 3 : 3 Cardiff So, we pass Leicester, Norwich, and Coventry (on goal difference). That should move us up to 17th.
you guys are on fire as of late..... a lot of wins if i remember correctly... no longer in danger of the drop... some great transfer window pick ups.
After today, QPR is: - 11 points plus goal difference behind a play-off spot. - 6 points plus goal difference ahead of a relegation spot. Watford and Charlton drew 1-1 at Vicarage Road in the late game. With the point, Watford passed Bristol City and moved into the second auto-promotion spot. There's now a 3-point gap from 6th to 7th and a 4-point gap from 21st to 22nd. We have some tough games coming up. After the international break, we have a mid-week trip to 8th-place Cardiff on January 29th and then a home game against 3rd-place Bristol City on the first Saturday in February. Hello everyone. Got back in from London last night. Saturday was a great time. We got to Loftus Road early and were able to see a few of the players arrive. As far as the match went, the crowd was huge and Barnsley were rarely in the game. We probably could have had at least 1-2 more goals. The tackle on Blackstock in the second half looked like it should have been a penalty as well. My wife and I were sitting in the paddocks, right under Flavio. In regards to Ainsworth, he was on the sidelines in a suit. Not sure if he was injured but he was in attendence.
Thanks for the report! Glad you had a good time! Sounded like a good atmosphere on Saturday. Hope the rest of your trip went well, also.
Rowan Vine made the Football League's Team of the Week for his performance v Barnsley. http://www.football-league.premiumtv.co.uk/staticFiles/42/d1/0,,10794~119106,00.pdf Kind of odd since Damien Delaney was the MOTM - at least in the sponsors eyes.
I can vouch for the fact that Vine played a great game. During the first half, he was basically right in front of me. Had some great touches and probably should have been man of the match in my opinion.
Good news here. In his post-game interview, DeCanio said Stewart's injury was "nothing serious" and he joked that Stewart just "wanted the applause from the public." Just watched the highlights, too. Wow -- the work between Agyemang and Vine that led to Vine's goal was beautiful, Agyemang made his goal with strength and hustle, and Rowlands' run was unbelievable (too bad he couldn't finish it). Some very nice football there.
