I'll start with news of a possible non-transfer. Will Esteban Granero return to Loftus Road in 14/15? Nedum Onuoha indicates that Granero would like to return and Onuoha would welcome it. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/esteban-granero-eyes-qpr-return-7190764 http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/esteban-granero-eyes-qpr-return-7190764 Granero is certainly the type of player more suited to the Premier League than the Championship. And, if we are not able to sell him this summer due to his recent injury situation (his loan to Real Sociedad was cut short in September due to a knee injury, but he is said to be healthy now), it probably makes sense to plan to have him in the squad. He's a quality player and we have to pay his high wages anyway. He could add strength to the midfield and allow us to spend money elsewhere (up front, in particular) where it's more urgently needed. 2014/15 will be year 3 of a 4-year deal that Granero signed in August 2012.
"QPR boss Harry Redknapp is reportedly planning to swoop for Spurs duo Andros Townsend and Michael Dawson." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-andros-townsend-3619835
I worry about any "big splash" signings, but Townsend is a quality player who likes the club. He's not one to take the money and hide.
http://www.caughtoffside.com/2014/0...o-sign-swansea-city-defender-ashley-williams/ Swansea defender Ashley Williams to come to Loftus Road in £4m move? Williams is 29 and heading into the final year of his deal at Swansea.

Israel captain Yossi Benayoun leaves QPR to join Maccabi Haifa http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ssi-benayoun-leaves-qpr-to-join-maccabi-haifa No surprise that the 35-year-old would return home on a free. "He spent four seasons at Maccabi Haifa early in his career, winning two Israeli league titles before transferring to Spanish club Racing Santander."
Hooray for good sense! Hill should be transitioning in to a player/coach role, essentially. Will be interesting to see if he makes the Premier League 25 man squad.
What do you think of the off-again, on-again rumors of £80,000/week for 35-year-old Rio Ferdinand? http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jun/08/qpr-rio-ferdinand-harry-redknapp "As a free agent, after being released last month by Manchester United, Ferdinand has also had interest from Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and West Ham, plus clubs from Major League Soccer, Dubai and China. Loïc Rémy is currently QPR’s highest paid player, on around £75,000 a week. Yet with the Frenchman thought to be leaving this summer, Tony Fernandes, the club’s majority shareholder, is conscious that any offer of £60,000 a week upwards would make Ferdinand the club’s best rewarded footballer."
Yeah I'd rather we didn't. But I suppose he'd probably be up for giving his best effort back in London playing for 'Arry.
"QPR will have to battle Besiktas if they want to bring £3 million rated Rafael van der Vaart back to London. They will also have to convince the Dutch playmaker he won’t be involved in another relegation struggle like the one he’s just suffered with Hamburg." http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-ready-battle-van-der-7246901
"Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is ready to snap up goalscoring midfielder Craig Bryson - and double Derby's misery." "The Scot has a fixed £750,000 fee clause in his contract and the Rams fear losing him to the London club, who beat them in the Championship play-off final at Wembley last month." "Bryson, 27, joined Derby from Kilmarnock for £450,000 three years ago and scored a career-best 16 goals in 40 Championship appearances last season." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-eye-transfer-raid-derbys-3671705
"Pape Souare is being considered by Queens Park Rangers as they weigh up potential recruits for left-back." "And Brede Hangeland is also interesting the club following his departure from Fulham." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...r-League-new-boys-eye-defensive-recruits.html
"Tom Ince is holding discussions with a host of Premier League clubs including QPR, Stoke, Sunderland, West Brom and Hull." "Premier League sides had resigned themselves to losing the England Under-21 winger to Italian giants Inter Milan. But in an unprecedented move, Ince opted to remain in England and fight for a contract at a Premier League club - of which there is no shortage." http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ll-open-talks-with-wanted-free-agent-Tom-Ince "Liverpool and Everton are locked in a three-way battle with Inter Milan to sign QPR midfielder Stephane Mbia, according to sources in France." http://lions4life.com/?p=6162
"QPR boss Harry Redknapp is pondering making a shock £3million summer swoop for Bolton midfielder Mark Davies." "Davies recovered from serious injury to return to the Bolton side in the second half of last season and has been tipped to step up to the Premier League this summer." http://www.clubcall.com/queens-park-rangers/trotters-star-targeted-by-redknapp-1729524.html
Ali Faurlin has signed a one-year deal to remain at QPR, while Armand Traore has signed a two-year deal. "Rio [Ferdinand] has agreed to join us and we're hopeful of getting that one over the line when he gets back from the World Cup,” Redknapp told the Telegraph. I can't foresee any problems with it and we'd be delighted if we can get it done soon. He's been a player at the top of the list since he left Manchester United and he would give the whole place a lift with his quality and experience." -- Harry http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...s/qpr-boss-confirms-former-manchester-7367444 A Spanish newspaper says Esteban Granero is willing to take a wage cut to remain with Real Sociedad. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...ews/qpr-news-transfer-rumours-esteban-7390393
Rumors says Julio Cesar may be going to Benfica. Getting his wages off the books would be great news for the R's. http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/deal-done-qpr-keeper-julio-cesar-agrees-benfica-move-4030971 "Record says the Brazil No1 has struck terms with Benfica over a pre-contract. Julio Cesar will move to Lisbon once Jan Oblak's switch to Atletico Madrid is confirmed."
"Queens Park Rangers have agreed a £4.78 million deal in principle for Ajax striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson." The striker has scored 24 league goals for Ajax in the previous three seasons, and notched 15 times in 23 international appearances." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Redknapp-agrees-4-78m-deal-Ajax-striker.html

"Newly promoted English Premier League side Queens Park Rangers are interested in taking on Nigeria World Cup defender Kenneth Omeruo on loan from Chelsea for the new season, top sources have informed AfricanFootball.com. Another EPL outfit Hull City have already indicated interest in taking the highly-promising central defender on loan after English Championship club Middlesbrough made it very clear they will be more than happy to have Omeruo back for the forthcoming season." http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/qpr-join-race-omeruo/
Looks like the Ferdinand deal may happen. "He arrives back today so I am going to meet him and hopefully we can get it sorted. He has not been difficult to deal with. He wants to play and he is not expensive. He wants to come and play at QPR now so hopefully we can get it done." -- Harry I hope that "not expensive" part is true. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...nand-WANTS-to-join-QPR-insists-Harry-Redknapp
The Mirror reports that Remy's buyout clause is £8.5m for a top four side and £11m for 5th & 6th placed teams and that we're asking £15m for teams outside the top six. If we hold to that, it makes it very difficult for Newcastle to buy him. Reports I've seen indicated that Arsenal is willing to pay the £8.5m, but don't want to match his current wages. This article says "Teams outside the top six, including West Ham and Newcastle, are being asked to pay a whopping £15m for Remy. On top of that, the striker - currently on holiday - is asking for wages of £80,000-90,000-a-week and is not willing to take a pay cut." Does it sound increasingly likely that we'll have Remy at least until the January window? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/loic-remy-transfer-twist-qpr-3861786 The article also talks about the potential salary situation for Ferdinand: "Ferdinand, who picked up around £200,000-a-week before being released by United last month, is set to earn a basic salary of £30,000-40,000-a-week, with a bonus on top based on appearances and starts." If true, that's much more reasonable than I feared.
Rio has just tweeted that he is on his way to Loftus Road: Rio Ferdinand @rioferdy5 · 3m Thumbs up re medical now on to the the exciting part #Signature EnRoute to Loftus Road.... #QPR
