Here is a link to QPR's AGM for this year. http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10373~682553,00.html It gives a good recount of the meeting. Things like Dunga being reappointed as a director and Paladini is now a director. The club took a loss of 4.3 million last year. Then Olly goes on and talks about the new training ground as well as the players for next season in typical Olly speak.
I wonder how much of the loss was due to payments on the ABC loan? Does anyone know anything about the new training ground, where it is?
It's not far from Heathrow. Former training ground of Che**ea. It looks very nice -- big improvement. Photos and a map of the location can be found in this story: http://www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10373~687913,00.html There's also a walk-through tour on QPR World.
The interest payment on the loan is 1 million a year. However, we have to remember that the loan was taken out to pay-off and consolidate other debts into one single loans. As such, those debts also had interestest payments associated with them. If I remember rightly, 3 million of the ABC loan went to pay off the tax man, 5 million went to CW and there were some other outstanding debts around. As such, its not as simple as just saying that the ABC loan eats up 1 million a year in interest payments -- but that is the upper limit of what part of this year's losses comes due to the ABC loan.
Thanks for the explanation. I guess the other contribution to the loss would have been not getting the reveune from Fulham for rent.
I also forgot about them. On the plus side, the pitch should be in really good shape this year. I wonder if the Aussies will be playing any friendlies this year there?
Just how much money was QPR getting from Fulham and Wasps each year? And is that made up by getting higher revenues being up a league now? I assume shirt sponsors, stadium signage, TV revenue would all be more. And is Atouk amazed at just how much goes into planning a wedding these days???
The Australia soccer team's last friendly in London was at Craven Cottage. I think I read somewhere that they'd play there for future friendlies. This article says Australia has a friendly scheduled for Craven Cottage in August against Colombia, but had to pull out and is asking New Zealand to take their place. It also says New Zealand is considering future London games. "Seatter believes playing often in London will allow the All Whites more games with the likes of Scotland and Northern Ireland, who are at a similar level." If the Soccaroos are set on Craven Cottage, maybe we could get the All Whites as regular visitors. There will be a Great Britain vs. New Zealand match at Loftus Road in the Tri-Nations Rugby League competition on October 29th. Yes! We just purchased invitations. Or should I say we recently picked out invitations and her mom bought them! Things are coming along. We've also planned our first London/QPR trip after the wedding -- we'll be going over in mid-March for QPR v. Brighton. Looks like I'll get over twice before then (aiming for three trips/five games this season). I've already booked a trip for the Luton/Leeds homes games in September. Then I'm aiming for Millwall home/Palace away in February. I don't know. More from Fulham than Wasps, I suppose (since we basically kicked Wasps out to get Fulham).
I seem to remember that the figure for Fulham was some where between 1 - 2 mil pounds. So let's go with 1.5 mil for arguments sake. I remember reading that those two years really helped the club out. I don't think that going up would bring in that much additional sponsorship revenue. I know it's a huge leap in tv revenue (bigger pie and less parts) to the EPL.
