Knew we would lose once we got to penalties. Also knew that Trauco would miss his penalties with that run up, although that was a very close one. Feel for Cueva.
Also, where is that ignorant American who said we would lose 4-0 and thinks that we are the equivalent of St Vincent and the Grenadines?
Penalties are always cruel. I feel for Peru, they always punch above their weight in the Copa. But congratulations to Colombia. Their semifinal clash against either of Chile or Mexico in Chicago will be a hard-fought game. I'll root for Colombia if it's Mexico, else if it's Chile, may the best win.
I will cheer Colombia in the semi's no matter what. I don't even want to think about Chile in another final. Don't want Mexico in a final either.
It's the Copa America. South American derbies are always very hard fought. I don't remember the last time a Copa game ended in a blowout. Whoever said that has no idea about Latin American football.
Ofcourse But even in that game, it was close in the 1st half and Paraguay had a great opportunity to equalize at the end of the half. It's only in the 2nd half that the game got out of hand. At no time did it seem that Paraguay didn't belong at that stage. We just outclassed them.
I am very proud. We showed a lot of spirit. I can't remember the last time Peru played so well organized. Our defensive displays this year topped that of last years Copa.
Peru once again gave us a hard time. Really tough team. Add another draw to the Copa America record between us. We've been pretty even in the last 2+ decades. Since 89 we've drawn 5 tiimes including today. And only 1 victory a piece.
Se la pusimos fácil, poniendo a buscar a james y Cardona el balón de espaldas ... Perez debe jugar siempre Sánchez y Torres de doble 5 es estancarse
That was a great game and experience. Everyone got along there, great experience win or lose. Glad I went. Congrats Colombia.
