I'm not sure you can make an absolute statement that Ecuador is a better squad than the U.S., especially when the teams played a warm-up friendly less than a month ago that resulted in a U.S. win. I think this game goes to PKs.
To me Ecuador is the better team in Quito. That's about it. I think the USA will be the better team in Seattle.
Ecuador Starting XI: Dominguez; Paredes, Mina, Erazo, Ayovi; Noboa, Gruezo; Montero, Arroyo, Valencia; Enner
In football, the curse of repetition is that eventually you're going to lose one of the players be it by injury or disciplinary action. It'll be interesting how Klinsmann shakes up roster defensively without Yedlin.
meh - another lackluster crowd given this is supposedly the biggest footy tournament in the US since 1994...
Klinsy always trying to make me tighten my sphincter with his reckless roster changes. Fabian is strictly offensive, he's no Beasley or Yedlin who can quickly go from defenders to attacking wingers. Ecuador's gonna start Antonio Valencia, right?
baseball brah. Los gringos prefer an antiquated form of "sport" that lasts for 12 hours and is played by fat men on steroids than our beautiful sport played by the impoverished, Brazilian MMA fighters, and sissy European divers.
Bobby Wood has been the difference in this first 20 minutes. He gets the ball and does so well to keep it and move it to a dangerous position.
