Hi everyone, Now that we have hopefully booked our match tickets, arranged flights and accommodation and got our Hayya cards; it is now time to make some friends to enrich our time in Qatar. Let's use this thread to organise meet-ups, make new friends and find other fans to hang out with during the World Cup. No exclusively for solo travellers, but the thread is hopefully going to be great platform solo-travellers to make new friends and organise meet-ups with others.
Ok, I will start the thread. I am a solo-traveller, visiting Qatar from 20 Nov to 6 Dec. Will be there for Group Stage & R16. I will be staying at Umm Ghuwailina Salam buildings in Umm Ghuawailina. I have tickets to several matches, one match every day, some days two matches. So will be pretty busy with all different matches and transportation between them. But would love to find some nice friends to hang out with, specially if we can find international beverages lol
I'm coming for 3rd place match and final. Depending of teams in semis may come too. Staying in villa palace hotel.
I arrive the day before it starts, I’ll stay for the entire first round, one of my friends will join a couple days later. We’ll be staying at one of the cruise ships.. I have tickets for everyday besides Monday 28th, as for alcohol I’m guessing at the fan fest which I’ll visit every day if im not attending a match
I only have 3 late games, Tuesday Wednesday and Saturday, besides that, I’ll be at the fan fest for sure for every late game
Hey, I'll be at the clusters where it's closest to the Al Janoub stadium, where the Aussies will be playing all their 3 matches there. I know a fair few Aussies will base themselves there. Definitely up for a meet before heading to matches!
I'll be there for the second and third week of the tournament: the 3° group matches, R16 and QF. Will be staying around West Bay.
I'll be arriving in the small hours of Thursday 24th and travelling home late night on Monday 28th, staying onboard MSC Poesia. Going to 2 games per day on most of the days.
Hey everyone! I’m Owain, Wales fan, and will be travelling solo to the WC. I’ll be in Qatar from Sunday 20th to Saturday 26th and staying in the fan village at Rawdat Al Jahhaniya, right next to the stadium where Wales play all our group games. I’ll be at Wales-USA and at least one other game a day probably, but between games it would be cool to meet up with other solo travellers

Mexico Fed setting up their own big fan fest. Mexihouse up near Lusail, will have beer and food and screens etc.. https://pledgetimes.com/this-will-be-the-mexihouse-fan-fest-at-the-2022-qatar-world-cup/
I'm a solo traveler doing the whole 2022 World Cup. I also did the entire 2010 and 2018 World Cups solo and the 2014 World Cup up through the Quarterfinals (had to get home early for a family reunion). I'm in California so I look forward to 2026 where I have it in my backyard at Levi's Stadium (just 9 miles away) and down at SoFi Stadium in L.A./Inglewood. I'm staying at the Mövenpick Hotel Doha next to the Corniche and the Doha Port where there'll be tons of cruise ships holding other fans. I arrive an hour before kickoff of the opener on Nov. 20th. I need to find a way to a TV, perhaps I'll hang out in the Al Maha Lounge at Doha Airport. That way I get all you can drink alcohol while watching the opener! I only take off on two short trips to Dubai when there are no matches, Dec. 7-9 and Dec. 11-13. This will be another World Cup for the ages!
I'm going to all the Canada matches, since they fascinate me as my neighbors to the north, and they were easy tickets to get!
