Completely disagree. Whether USA pulled back strategically after the goal is a debate, I don’t think so - I think France played them deep
The only times USA created things this game was in the counters when France sent up a lot of players to equalize

Rapinoe even said post-match that they would’ve liked to play better lol

Again, besides that handball, the difference for the whole game was shots on goal. Simple as that.

Nobody gives credit to the coach Jill Ellis...She outcoached the other coach. She was from England and she should know England better than anyone else for the next game...

It wouldn’t be WWC19 if we weren’t ending the game discussing the penalty handball rule

The English game had advanced light years since she lived there.

That’s not a handball. The ball hitting the hand/arm is not a hand ball. The hand/arm must DELIBERATELY play the ball.

One more time. That was not a hand ball. It must be a deliberate act of handling the ball. Having a ball shot into an arm that is not extended is not deliberate.

I'm interested as I don't think she is deserving do her her many poor touches v. Dunn. Why do you think she was deserving?

And a few other matches...inconsistencies in reffing...though in other matches more were upset about a PK being called but for some reason this match getting it what everyone has been arguing what would have been right are now upset...let's face it...fans are the worse some times when the team they want to win dont get there way

The advantage they get though since they’re gonna compete as Great Britain

Welp, once again, France chokes in another tournament, and this time it was at home. I honestly don't think they will ever win. No matter how much talent they have and they have some amazing talent, they will never win. They are kind of the new Brazil, but at least Brazil made it to a few finals.

Should Diacre have switched Diani to the left side at some point? I don't think France did that, did they? And would Dunn have switched sides as well? There is no way that O'Hara could have coped with her.

Japan’s PK was borderline. That’s a natural position and very arguably ball to hand. I think the notion that defenders have to run with their arms at their sides is fairly, well, unnatural. I don’t see that was deliberate handling

The Japan/Netherlands handball PK was a bad call, but that would have been a worse call.

O'Hara is in a completely natural defensive position, has her arm down at her side and apparently tries to move it out of the way when the cross is released. What else could she possibly do?

The main problem with using VAR for handling calls is that slow motion makes everything look more intentional than it is. Even if the replay makes it appear that a defender is deliberately leaving their arm in the way, you can't expect a player to react faster than the minimum human reaction time.

The Japanese player probably should have been given the benefit of the doubt, given the close range of the shot. In O'Hara's case, there isn't any doubt - it's clearly unintentional.

7 minutes is not enough when you're losing....7 minutes is way too much when you're winning. :whistling:
