I never thought that I would see our music in an actual Disney film...I actually got emotional watching this film. It's on Disney+ right now if you haven't seen it.
Wait Messi and his wife singing a vallenato (Colombian music)? She’s even doing our hand thing https://t.co/5fKxAuOBag— CockyColombians☕️ (@CockyColombians) December 29, 2021
Vallenato, tropipop, and even salsa - nueva salsa, neo-tropico, etc. - have been planting bandera for a while now. I even read recently that Colombia exports more music than any other country in Latin American, Mexico and Brazil included, of course. That's down to the hip-hop acts largely, but still...
It's the best song from the film. Kind of a take on Marc Anthony in the chorus more than Colombian derivative, but it's super catchy. The Spanish version is called "No se habla de Bruno" - I have two kids under 8 and weve watched the movie like a million times already!
Funny enough they apparently didn't expect it to be so popular since they submitted dos oruguitas for the academy awards. A beautiful song itself, they were banking on it winning based on emotional. But with that submitted to a few award events, there are those like the Oscars who haven't opened submissions yet.
#Oscars WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH "WE DON'T TALK ABOUT BRUNO"??? pic.twitter.com/3UsKgZUugu— Julait 🍊🇨🇴 (@Apoyofandoms) March 28, 2022
