I want FSW, but my cable company says: 1. Too expensive 2. Not enough demand Anyone out there have any success stories in getting your cable company to pick up FSW? I'm looking for some advice....
Go one better and get Dish Network which has Gol TV in English as a bonus. My cable system has FSW but it shares time with FS Detroit. We only see FSW Monday thru Friday from 11:00AM to 5:00PM Eastern. So we get an hour of FSWR, an hour of Sky Sports Report, two hours of infomercials and, finally, maybe a soccer game for the last two hours. My cable company says they are interested in adding it as a digital channel but Fox will only sell it as an analog channel. Seems strange since we've got Fox Sports en Espanol as a digital channel. Anyway I'm switching to Dish Network by Christmas. I've had enough of cable's sorry stories of why they can't offer FSW 24/7.
I have FSW on digital cable 24/7, but I would like it to be on basic cable since not every room has a digital cable box. There is no way that they would do that huh?
It depends on your apartment setup. You could try to persuade the complex manager to offer DirecTV to residents they way some apartments offer cable service. This will minimize your hassle, but is a long shot depending on the type of building. If you have a clear south west view and you have a balcony or something on which you can attach a dish, there's no reason why you can't get DirecTV or DishNetwork installed. The property manager can't veto it as long as you are using space you are paying for (ie, non public space) for dish installation. In other words, if you have exclusive access to your balcony and can get a guy to mount a dish on it, go for it. I spend countless hours trying to convince my cable company to bring back FSW. I've been happy ever since I switched to DirecTV.
My landlord had not problem with me putting in a dish. Have you checked? Also, if they say no, dishes aren't allowed, check with DTV there are laws which prevent them from stopping you.
