KSLs are by far the greatest boot i've ever worn. In second it's either shudohs or the cellerators. I've only one match in my cellerators, so I can't give a great review, but they so far they are a GREAT boot.
What are the boots Puma makes with the simple yellow stripe? Can't rememberr the name, but a coaching colleague of mine swears by them to wear for hours on end as coaches do. mac4, I think it boils down to what type of boot you're looking for. Are you the type who likes the newest model to come down the pike, or are you a more traditional type of person? I suggest you go to your local soccer shop and try on several pair until you know what you want. I have owned a pair of Kings, and aside from the fact that the thin Pittards leather seemed to wear too quickly, they were top notch. 'Course, I was a GK, so it's not as if I was running all over the place or needed to have a killer touch.
im an outside back, so i need a good touch, but need to be able to get good power for powerful clearences.
cellerators, a sweeper i know uses them. they do the trick in my eyes. once i woar king's and it ripped the entire first two layers of skin off of both my feet. it was nuts, i didn't go to school for 3 days, haha.
Those boots are the Puma Liga '71. (not actually made in 1971, for clarification ) They are quite nice and really simple.
cell zero 5 are the best cleat i've worn. they have so much tecnology in the shoe. powerframe, cell, arch support. it's a great shoe. the next big thing is the king exec which replaces the king sl. that shoe is hot. and it's so so so light.
check these bad boys out. the insides(on the outside of the shoe) got a big cat embroidered by heel all the way to the arch. it looks cool. they are due out 6/1/05 @ $125
Thanks for the pics authenticsoccer! I think those are the new KSLs. They look really nice, I like the tongue strap that is actually on the boot itself.
Guys: Can someone tell me how Pumas fit ? As in, are they generally tight or loose ? I've had trouble whereas Nikes are almost a size smaller and Diadoras are usually glove fit, but a little loose with some wiggle room. I found a great deal on some 8 1/2 Puma Cellerator Respira GC Ti boots and I'll probably order them if I think they'll fit ok - Joe
puma usually fits true to size with the exception of the cell zero 4. nike fits smaller while adidas is big and diadora is bigger. i would say that nike and puma are about the same possibly puma is 1/2 a size bigger. The Puma King Exec takes the place of the King SL. This shoe is much lighter than the king sl. The Leather is less padded so you get a glove like fit. The new conical stud design is super comfortable. The stiching of the leather provides for a cool look as well. I beleive the shoe is around 8oz.
Thanks for the awesome answer ! It's crazy how soccer shoes vary so much across the board ***EDIT: Haha, never mind. In the time that I waited for a response about Puma shoes, they sold out. Oh well.
