Gotze finally does something helpful by playing in ObamaYeng, who makes a quality chip to score. I don't think its fair to say Pulisic has had a slow start just yet. Only like 10 minutes in and he hasn't really had the ball.
Sokratis nice lead pass for CP, who finds Kagawa in the box. Unfortunately Kagawa has nowhere to go and passes back.
Pulisic getting more involved now with a good pass into the box that ended in Dortmund keeping possession. He does an excellent job tracking back on defense for such a young player.
Not for nothing but Pulisic started the play on the goal with an aggressive header that Gotze made the most of.
I'd like to see him show for the ball a bit more. He seems to always expect a ball into space in front of him, instead of making more of an effort to provide an easier option for a teammate.
He just made like a 70 yard run with the ball into wide open space, and created a bit of space to shoot, but then skied it.
Pulisic gained possession in his own half and carried the ball all the way into Sporting's box and took a shot that was over the bar. It was a half-chance, nothing more.
Nice, Pulisic asking for the throw when he definitely rolled it out of bounds right in front of the linesman.
That ain't a choice he is making. If he didn't he'd be in BVB II or in the U-19's. TT don't tolerate anything less.
Gotze is having one of his better games. BVB look generally in control. But a second goal is necessary to put this game to bed.
Pulisic takes a speculative shot from the top of the box, but it was blocked by a defender. He was trying to roll it into the bottom corner it looked like.
Sporting with some pressure--nearly scored after a Dortmund defender was careless with the ball, but Passlack and the GK pressured at the last moment to force the shot wide.
CP nearly getting onto the end of a cross by the near post which results in a shot on target from Aubameyang that is saved by the keeper.
Sporting got some nice signings with Bryan and Bas Dost this summer. Sorry just noticed Bryan was with them last term as well.
