Pulisic starts in his final home match for Dortmund as their title hopes continue to slip away, while Morales makes the bench for Dusseldorf. Dortmund need a lot of help from RB Leipzig today. I would say results from the Bayern-RB match are also fair game in this thread. 🚨 #BVB STARTING XI 🚨OUR LAST HOME MATCH OF 2019! 🐝🐝#BVBF95 pic.twitter.com/61uykAfxRH— Borussia Dortmund (@BlackYellow) May 11, 2019
10 minutes in. Only a few touches for Pulisic as Dortmund struggle to break down a defensively stout Dusseldorf.
If I were a betting man, I'd put money on Bayern winning the league. And next season too. It's surprising how Fortuna is ending the season at mid-table. They looked poor for the first half of it. Very poor. Shame that Fredo had such short happy life.
Pulisic picks up the ball in the box with his back to goal. He turns from the corner of the six-yard box and his cross/shot trickles wide. Sort of similar to the final chance he created in last week's match, where it would have been an assist if a Dortmund teammate had crashed the goal.
A Pulisic pass intercepted in the Dusseldorf half leads to a break for Dusseldorf. It actually results in a goal, but it's immediately called back due to a narrow offside. A bunch of Dortmund defenders (particularly Weigl) were caught flat-footed, so it would have been tough to blame Pulisic.
An Alcacer shot is parried by the keeper, Pulisic chases the rebound and just reaches it but his shot is covered and deflected.
Pulisic gets a chance to cross on the right, it deflects off a Dusseldorf defender to the top of the box where Guerreiro skies it.
I hate when dortmund have a counter available to them and they don't even try. Just hold the ball and pass it back. Wtf?
RB Leipzig and Bayern are 0-0 at the half. A draw keeps Dortmund's title hopes alive, but Dortmund really need Leipzig to win this.
Back to back games with goals. Looking for another goal in the 2nd half, before he got subbed for a standing ovation.
1-1. The 2nd straight week that Burki has had a howler. Edit - I didn't even realize that Burki is out. It's actually Hitz with the howler, as Burki was benched by Favre.
Action in Leipzig, as Bayern have taken a 0-1 lead - but the goal has been taken away after VAR review!
Excellent attacking movement by Pulisic, he turns and sets up Bruun Larsen at the top of the box, who skies the chance.
