All things considered, a terrible end to a miserable season. Lol Literally the easiest opponent in coppa final
If I remember correctly, Bologna was the better team and up 0-1 until Bologna rotated their top players. Conceicao certainly isn't the answer for Milan going forward. By god, that is Allegri's music!
Pulisic Tomori Abraham Emerson Royal Walker Joao Felix Loftus Cheek Am I missing anyone else? Edit. Morata was there earlier in the year.
I can't get this moment out of my head: towards the end of the match, CP and Felix were running at the back-line. CP recieved the ball from Felix, and Felix started to make a "give-and-go" run to the right of CP, but got pulled back by his defender. CP beat one player with a dribble, then got surrounded by three defenders with a pretty clear channel to his right, but had no target because FELIX HAD TURNED TO COMPLAIN TO THE REF ABOUT THE PULL BACK. CP tried to keep possession and did a decent job before ultimately coughing up the ball. CP had been on the field for like 70+ minutes at that point, and had the tenacity to keep attacking. Felix had been on the field for like 5' and felt entitled to complain to the ref about a foul off the ball. If it makes me, a guy who roots for AC Milan only because his fellow countrymen play there, FURIOUS, I cannot imagine how it would make a life long Rosseneri feel. He's playing for himself, not the club or his teammates. Infuriating.
I find the criticisms of Pulisic's performance a bit baffling. Milan could barely get the ball through the Bologna midfield. He rarely got the ball in remotely dangerous spots, and often when he worked to make something happen get got no return service. Milan as a whole didn't play well. Pulisic did not have an all-world performance where he single-handled Maradona'd the entire Bologna team, but he played a good two-way game and provided many of the few sparks of life for Milan on the night.
The manager is auditioning for a future job at this point. Getting Felix going seems to be part of that plan for him.
I suppose it is because Milan seems to have this thing where they have a few guys that can beat you on any given day and when one of those guys don't do that then they had a "bad game." Soccer really is a team game and Conceicao appears to be the worst at trying put the pieces together in a coherent fashion. They consistently seem to have guys not quite on song or have concentration lapses at the worst of times. One of the things I like about our lad is that he mostly puts his head down and gets on with it. Play the next play. Today they were just punked by the physically aggressive play and Bologna had that dawg in 'em today. Seems to be a good way to approach a game against them.
