Great run from Musah that forced a decent save.

Well shoot, Musah makes a nice run and a nice shot save by keeper. But he injures himself on run.
Maybe it’s a cramp, but I hope it’s not a strain or pull of some kind

Looks like Musah may have tweaked a hammy on the run hopefully it's just a cramp.

If it was any lower than that, I don’t think he would have been left in the match by Pioli as long as he was.
not a great day, but he did not actively hurt the team.

Final score: Milan 1-0 Verona. These 'easy' games aren't always easy, but Milan takes the full three points.

Both had really solid chances. So far Pulisic seems to be able to find a touch more space in Italy compared to England to get in position for a great chance so I’m still hopeful for an impressive scoring season. Needs to be sharper, though, of course.

I guess I am going to take the contrarian view here that Pulisic played pretty good. The hug from the coach as he came off is exhibit one to support that opinion. Involved in the goal, check. Mostly he played pretty good defensively and he made life difficult for the opposition.

I recognize this is a idifferent view of how he played, but I believe our lad is committed to Pioli's vision for him as a total footballler. For the first time in his career he seems to take the defensive side of the game seriously. I saw that today and I came away impressed.

I think the goals will come, and I am excited for the future with him. He is becoming more than just an attacking player that offers little other than goals and assists on an inconsistent basis.

He definitely had a few good balls, created a dangerous chance in the box, and played with a solid work rate. He isn’t going to score or assist every match. He was fine even with the errant passes etc.

Once again Musah looks better than Pulisic.

Never got that one. Pulisic cannot step on a ball, the trequartista must be capable of that.

I like Puli and he's the one player from our pool who has the quality and experience to play significant minutes in a top club in a top league*, but I think he's about to lose his spot as a starter here.

    -----
    * Reyna has the quality, for whatever reasons he's not been able to accrue the experience.

What a calamitous match from Kenny Chesney and this defense. Finishes themselves off in style.

Juve's problems could be ameliorated by playing Wes in the middle & starting Weah, but apparently they have a rule where you can't play 2 Americans at the same time nor any in the center of the park?

    completely agree ...

that hug from Pioli was nice ....

it was CPs aggressive defending in the Verona half that forced a turnover which Leao' was able to convert.

    loved seeing him inside more.

also thought Musah really put a strong mark on the match ... good tough play throughout.

3 points ... but they still need to improve ... the shellacking by Inter deserves serious introspection.

Yeah I think the new formation was in part a result of that introspection. I think they want to advance over the top some and put pressure on the centerbacks and back the opposing midfields up just a little bit. The whole attack cant simply be give it to Theo or Leao and hope for a moment of brilliance.

Pulisic starts at Cagliari. Chukwueze on the other wing. Musahon the bench.

As most of you probably expected, 4-3-3 with Pulisic on the left for once. Chukwueze earns a VAR review for a penalty in the first minute.

And Pulisic just beat a man on the dribble on the counter without breaking out of a jog. Play ends with a Reijnders shot wide.

Luvumbo, if you're going to drive that dramatically in Cagliari, it should be into the Mediterranean.

Solid first 10 by Puli, very aware, finding spaces and passing well, good movement.
