Pulisic and Musah all games PBP thread

Why does everyone need to miscast Musah? He's a central d-mid. The only team who's played him them for any extended period was the USMNT, and that was only after attrition. At least we always used him centrally though. His clubs like to shunt him out wide and put him in positions to attack for whatever reason.

 

Pulisic with the defensive work leading to a goal for Leao

 

Pulisic blocks the cross field pass at the midfield stripe, he and Giroud combine to win the loose ball and Giroud plays in Leao for the goal.

 

Some good work in tight spaces from Pulisic. The return pass to him has just missed a few times now.

 

Musah with a pair of clean tackle/steals in quick succession there. If he can use his strength cleanly like that more often...

 

So close to awesome by Pulisic, breaking between defenders. Really good recovery defense and a little bit of a CP stumble caused by a bump kept him from outrunning the D.

 

Very close. Musah looks great out there. Please, no more Loftus-Cheek (instead of Musah, at least).

 

Musah has done pretty well. Pulisic so-so.

 

It’s really surprising if Pulisic is the best Milan have at taking corner kicks!

 

At least he's not practicing them at our expense.

I think I spend too much time watching Pulisic. It just rarely pays off.

 

lol. You want to talk about the last match or this one? He’s seen plenty of the ball this match. Formation and lineup change in case you haven’t noticed.

 

I tuned in to hopefully see some CP magic vs a lower opponent.
But unfortunately I’m seeing lots of errant CP passes and also him falling down again.
At least his defensive effort contributed to Leao’s goal.
I’m not saying Pulisic is playing horrible, but he is not doing enough to lock down his starting 11 position, imo.

 

Slips to end a dangerous counterattack. That's a 3-week benching at Chelsea.

While they might have been better, they have limited the opposition to 1 chance and have the lead.

 

I hate to say it, but this is exactly where I am now.

 

I thought CP had a sneaky good first half. His defensive play was well timed and actually effective.

Musah was solid although quiet toward the latter end of the half. He certainly has the look of a player who belongs out there.

 

Isn’t everyone’s? The pitch is soaked.

 

If we are going to blame the wet pitch for him misplaying four yard passes, then he really can do no wrong on this forum…
