A win is a must today. With Napoli and Inter playing each other today, if Milan takes 3 points and Inter struggles, they are right back in the hunt
Gee, I didn’t see it that way but I haven’t looked carefully at a replay. My initial thought was he didn’t have a great angle on DeGea at first but rounded him easily, but then didn’t have much of an angle on the near post. But, may have scored either way…The next opportunity was possibly easier. Both were great one-twos and runs.
I’ve seen enough. Bring in Modric, Rafa, Rabiot. Milan should be up a goal or more and coasting, but Fiorentina are getting more confident as game progresses. Pulisic is actually playing well, all things considered
Fiorentina building and building in confidence. If Milan are serious about a Scudetto chance, now is the time to act
A second after I posted that last statement, Fiorentina score on a header. 1-0. Milan with a ton of work ahead. Fair or not, Pulisic will get lions share of blame if points are dropped today.
Nice ball into the middle from Pulisic, but no one can get on the end. Foul called just outside the box, debatably a penalty for Milan.
Final. 1-1. Disappointing. Pulisic played well, but he set a standard for himself and he has to finish his chances today and meet that standard.
Scudetto was a pipe dream I suppose. They just are not deep enough, there is a huge drop-off after the starting ten. There hasn't been enough production out of the striker spot to count in the eleven. Fulkrug is okay on hold-up play but runs like he is wearing concrete boots. Nkuku hasn't been fit and Jiminez has been hurt. Pulisic reverting to mean XG. Milan just needs to make sure they finish in a CL spot. I think Allegri's attempts to provide some rotation, is why Milan is so piss poor against the bottom half of the table. It really is shocking how poor they are against the bottom half compared to how well they have done against the top half.
The number of times Milan players carelessly gave the ball away was astounding. Milan reminds me a lot of the USMNT not that long ago where they have talent but they mentally just check out when playing against weaker teams they should dominate. It’s like they think it's beneath them and they shouldn’t have to really try.
I agree that Fulkrugg is slower than a snail, but to be fair to him, he easily should have had two assists today, which would make his performance assessment a whole lot better. It was our guy that let him down, if we’re honest.
Oh I agree, and Milan need him, but it is a shame that due to monetary constraints they aren't able to find a forward who does not have serious flaws.
I feel like that is an Allegri-led team. Allegri 1.0 at Juve was able to rely on the sheer amount of talent, Allegri 2.0 at Juve was unable to rely on the less than normal talent, seems to be similar for Allegri 2.0 at Milan.
I dunno Milan has some glaring roster issues and I think they are about where they should be in the table.
Sure, but I was referencing what @Cavalier is seeing when watching this Milan. The fact that they were playing as if the provincials should just roll-over. Instead of playing with intensity and conviction to show that they are only playing in 1 competition, etc.
Fair enough, I just think they aren't very good. Their "B" team is just lost, in over their heads, and thus look as if lacking urgency and conviction when they are simply incapable of executing collectively at a high level anytime they are missing more than one starter not named Leao, is how it feels to me
