wow, that bus ride home last night was about the grossest thing I have ever been involved with. Two people threw up on the bus, one all over the floor. There were people passed out with liquor bottles strewn about the entire bus. I saw one guy fall asleep and drop an almost full bottle of absolut. There was food from Mcdonalds smashed and crushed on the gound. The bathroom door wouldn't close. I saw a polish girl drink, literally, 3 or 4 large bottles of MD 20/20 in one day. It was a good trip but I showered as soon as I got home. I hope greyhound doesn't remember who we are. I really don't want to be at work today.
Agreed. It actually was a pretty good trip and we made it in excellent time to Columbus despite all the initial delays in Chicago. The trip home was another matter entirely. Eww. Likewise, I showered as soon as I got in the door. It was nice to get sleep in a bed after that. Not really motivating me to go on another bus trip anytime soon.
My only question is: What the hell was with the stop in Indiana after McDonalds? I was crashed out up front and only noticed we were stoped after someone crashed into my seat.
What is with the "fight" they are talking about on the Crew board? https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=79253
I'll let someone else explain it more fully but basically 6 or 7 people went over to the sparsley populated northside of the stadium and started to do Fire chants. The columbus fans provoked them and some punches were thrown. Security or a state cop or someone came over and did a bad job of trying to control the situation because from the southside of the stadium it looked like it was going on for almost a full 5 min. Regardless a few Crew fans got punched in the face and security saw it fit to hit a woman in the head more than a few times. It was more interesting to watch than Curtis Spiterri. And after our 5 got removed from the stadium they hung out with someone with an RV or trailer who has earned some major street cred as far as Chicago is concerned.
Oh and this is complete nonsense There is no felony assault charge. Next time maybe some Columbus fans should show up instead of the horse trailer convention that was parked out infront of the stadium.
Good times last yesterday. The fight wasn't too much of a big deal except we were kicked out ten minutes into the game. The C-Bus fans didn't do *#*#*#*#. A Cop did get punched and they went a little overboard on us. A girl was punched numerous times in the head by a cop and a few of us were hit, choked, and other stuff. After we were kicked out we talked to the cops and they were actually pretty nice people. We met some crew fans watching the game in the parking lot and they invited us to watch, gave us beer, food, let us rest and use the bathroom in their RV. They were great people and we owe them big time. Thanks to Abby and Cam for picking me up and letting me crash at their place. Thanks for the MDSC crew for the good times. Thanks to Marcin for giving me a ride home out of his way this morning. Thanks to everybody else I forgot.
Please tell me that someone got a shot looking out into the mud pit off all of those horse trailers. I will never take Columbus seriously when they have a field packed full of hore trailers in front of their stadium instead of fans.
Cute, but I don´t think that anyone said we were hooligans during the discussion about having a misunderstanding between fans which resulted in unforunate kicking-outs on both sides. that was a good anglophilic reference though. you have a great grasp of "futball" history. Best of luck when your lads boggle down on the pitch next year chap!
unfortunetly i will be gone, because that bus trip was freakin' awsome and i will now be taking a bus where ever i go.
Cam, I like to refer to any bus that I get on as "The Party Wagon." This helps me to really vocalize my feelings about how great bus trips can be. For example, this past weekend I took an 8 hour bus ride to Sevilla, avoided getting knifed by gypsies, and rode 8 hours back on The Party Wagon. ..........and Dipsy SCORES!!!!!!!!!
You´re right! It´s not unfortunate! By the way, how´s life in Columbus these days? It must be great getting to live in a cosmopolitan, modern, international city. Living in chicago is tough for most of us Fire fans. all we have are horses, a dirt parking lot and a team that´s not going to make the playoffs. Go Crew! Go Crew fans! And remember-- if you lose the game you can always do the Columbus thing: Go Home and Beat Your Wives!!!!!!
Actually, Chris lives in Chicago. So he made at least one right decision Come on. Columbus may be pathetic, but they aren't Carlos Ruiz.
Such tough guys. Living in the suburbs of a town full of slums. That's what makes a person tough. Street Cred man yeah, Did the silly guy with the ski mask go? He's the toughest.
Hey, I thought the bus trip was awesome. For those who complain about the puke--shame on you. Whoever cleaned it up did not think it was any gross. Just normal semiprocessed food that did not get on seats, flags and anything important. No big deal. I licked my fingers when I got home. I am a little more disappointed about 7 no-shows which made our count amount to only 32, plus independent arrivals (around 60), and I had to collect a little more money on the bus. I was left with 9 extra tickets (2 extras for independents did not find their owners, either) and I was hoping to sell them before the game which did not happen. This would have been my pay for organizing the trip so I guess I had tough luck this time. Big thanks to bunge who supported me financially (thanks to him the trip cost me only around $70) and appologies to zlzfire and others who prepaid and did not show because I cannot refund you any money.
According to Ol' Bill Quiqley someone spent the night in jail last night. Would someone like to clue me in on who that was? http://thefirealarm.com/tfadefault.cfm?page=ARTICLE&show=271 "Sunday afternoon about 10 people from Chicago decided to take a walk over to the North End, home of the Crew supporters, to give them some stick over the fact their team was going to miss the playoffs. When they got there, they unfurled a banner saying “Sack Andrulis,” referring to the coach of the Crew (who by all rumors will be out of a job by Thanksgiving). Of course, tempers flared and a brawl ensued in the stands. It took the combined efforts of the security guards and Columbus police to get things under control. Several Fire and Crew supporters were tossed out, with at least one Chicagoan getting to spend the night in jail for their actions." Why does this article make it sound like the Fire fans had the banner. Also, what does it even have to do with people from section 8 going to the other side of the stadium? And I think brawl is a little over dramatic.

Anybody knows that if Fire fans would have brought that banner and unfurled it, Crew fans would have bought them all a round of beer. Now a "Keep Andrulis" banner is a different story altogether.
Hey Eggy I just read what was posted by the others here and what the hell was written that makes you think anyone is claiming to be some kind of hooligans. I think you are just jumping on any chance you get to discredit the best fans in the MLS. So do me a favor Guuuuuuuuy keep your mouth shut stay home for the playoffs and if you need to talk some more get your ass in your car and make a road trip. One road trip! Rich P.S. Get any new guns?
Eggy you never get out from behind the PC or the plate of Indian food so how the hell do you know anything about Chicago. Come on now Eggy get in the car and hang out for a day.........never happen.
