All thanks to Mr. Wagner for screwing everything up. If I was the goverment of Puerto Rico, I'll go after this guy for having them spend so much money for nothing at the end. I hope now that federation uses these new stadiums for the local leagues. I doubt it cause Serralta didn't battle that much to keep the soccer game in PR and he hasn't done anything for the National team to keep it active.
BTW, does anybody knows what happened with the law sued River Plate PR had against the CFU in the arbitration court in New York?
Yea, I was checking PR's fixtures, and nothing about Guatemala. And can't be in October as that's when the Digicel Cup is going on, and Puerto Rico have their three, Round 1 games in October
it is kind of dumb for Serralta to say that the NT don't need any friendlies cause the players already play in their own teams. Even if they are playing in teams they need friendlies so they can have chemestry and play better. I hope is not a mistake cause they need all the friendlies they can get. I hope Serralta don't stay as president of the FPF
Cristian Arrieta will play for PR in the Digicel: http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/news/2010/09/arrieta-called-puerto-rican-national-team
What are the requirements for getting Puerto Rican sporting nationality? Arrieta was only in Puerto Rico for only 2 years. Is 2 years residency plus American citizenship the requirement? If so, then they should also go after Hansen, Scott Jones and Bill Gaudette. Anyways, does anyonw know if Puerto Rico has any good players in the pipeline? Most of their main contributors have at best one cycle left in them.
You are correct. To get Puerto Rican sporting nationality for football, you have to reside in the island for 2 years and have US citizenship. Theres already a list of 23 players that are participating in the 1st round of the Caribbean Championship. Here is the link to the list: http://www.primerahora.com/los23delaseleccionboricua-blog-424488.html Out of the 23 players in the list, 9 are natives born in the island, 8 have parents or grandparents that are Puerto Rican, and 6 are nationalized. The 6 that are nationalized are: Terry Boss, Goalkeeper (Seattle Sounders FC, MLS) Cristian Arrieta, Defender (Philadelphia Union, MLS) John Krause, Defender (Beijing Baxy, China 2nd division) Noah Delgado, Midfield (Puerto Rico Islanders, USSF D2 Pro League) Petter Villegas, Midfield (River Plate Puerto Rico, PRSL) Joshua Hansen, Forward (Puerto Rico Islanders, USSF D2 Pro League) Bringing Scott Jones to the national team isn't really necessary in my opinion. Plus, he is out for the rest of the season due to an injury in the 2nd leg vs LA Galaxy. Everybody, including me, wants to see Gaudette play for the national team. Even though he loves the island, from what Ive heard, he really isn't interested to play for Puerto Rico.
I was thinking Jones was younger than he is. Martinez is the only young defender who has really been tested. Jones could still be helpfull in the future, but defense is probably the one area where the starters are set. There are four solid players back there. Now, if only Puerto Rico could get a good foward...
Where the F is Velez? I know he's suspended for 2 games but that better not mean that he won't play in the next round neither.
My question is where is Harry Irizarry and the other Puerto Ricans that play in the PRSL that can cover some of the spots taken by the nationalized players.
