Muchachos los felecito por dar info. de Puerto Rican Islanders, y del futbol de la Isla, el thread de Guatemala esta con ustedes. Y que avance el futbol boricua. Seria bueno que tuvieran su propia seleccion, pero como son parte de los USA no creo que se pueda verdad. Bueno ojala en un futuro no lejano. Suerte hermanos.
Gracias hermano... pero Puerto Rico tiene soberania deportiva :S... tenemos nuestra propia seleccion. Nuestro Capitan es MArco Velez, que actualmente milita para el Toronto FC.
Bueno de hecho Puerto Rico tiene su propia selección desde 1940 cuando jugó su primer partido. Según la RSSSF, ese partido se jugó 12 de Noviembre de 1940 en Cuba, contra la selección Cubana y terminó con empate 1:1. Según la misma fuente la selección de Puerto Rico ha jugado 101 partidos oficiales con 11 victorias, 13 empates y 77 derrotas con 67 goles a favor y 334 en contra (hay que señalar que aquí se enumeran solo los partidos jugados hasta el 2006) y aunque Guadalupe es el equipo que más derrotas le ha encajado (9 en 10 partidos) son las Antillas Holandesas los que peor han tratado a los boricuas con 42 goles en 6 partidos (incluyendo las dos peores derrotas (0-15 y 0-14) mientras que Bahamas ha perecido las dos veces que se han visto las caras con 7 goles a favor de los de la isla del encanto por solo uno de los bahamenses
Pero saben que muchachos, en unos 2 anos creo que Cuba y Puerto Rico van hacer muy bien en las eliminatorias, esto es un proceso. Solo vean a Venezuela, Panama, Nicaragua, eran los equipos mas debiles pero ahi van creciendo, no importa si los golean o no, ahora a Venezuela ya no lo goleean como antes.
Puerto Rico puede ser, pero Cuba si no cambia su política no lo creo, al contrario creo que Cuba va a ir perdiendoo lugares en el área, en estos momentos, si se mira más del 70% de la selección está fuera del país y se les está negada la posibilidad de jugar en la misma, sin contar que en el criterio para seleccionar a los jugadores que la integran muchas veces no se usa el criterio del rendimiento de los jugadores

The under 20 national team from last year will all be elgible to compete. From what I heard at the first practices thier were only a few players capable of making the actual team that's going to compete in mayaguez. considering all the players are at thier colleges.
16 players have been chosen to participate in another tryout with all the available players that are playing in the LAI.... when the LAI ends now in November, the second cut will be made and 16 players mixed from the original tryouts and the second tryout will be chosen. Then On January the concentration will be begin including the players from abroad.

Andres is in France... no longer plays with the Islanders, and not only that I think he is unlegible since he is profesional.... antonio was in the tryouts, but the LAI gives special consetions to the participants of the PRSL, or the other way around.
I believe he is elgible regardless if he's pro. at the last games in 2006 in Colombia Mexico fielded Cesar villaluz(Cruz azul) and Hector moreno(unam) and Omar arellano(chivas) they were pro players. with what team is Andres playing with in France?
