If you've seen it in the paper that someone's getting called up, post it here. I've been out of the loop lately, but this article seems to show pretty clearly that Bobby's getting the call (yeah, well, duh!) http://icberkshire.icnetwork.co.uk/...y-as-he-prepares-for-world-cup-name_page.html
Oh, so we post articles regarding players that have been called up for the May friendlies? I mean, because no one is a lock for the WC... Regarding this article, that's great that Hahnemann was named to the all-CCC team by the PFA. A shame that Convey wasn't, but I didn't watch enough of this league to really know who the best 11 was.
I think that's the point. if you are playing for the US team in May, you could assume your on the roster? i doubt you'd see Rico Clark or Santino Quaranta for a second look?
But I'm pretty sure that we'll see Ralston, Olsen, Twellman, Ching, etc. and at least half of them wont make the squad. Arena knows what donovan will bring and Pope and Onyewu etc, so a part of these friendlies is to decide who will stay and who will go, so not everyone on the field will be on the final roster in Germany, but most will be.
I see your point, but i'm a little confused. How many players does Bruce name on May 2nd? the final 23 or is it more? because my understanding is that these games in May will be played with our world cup roster players?
These games will be for the final 23, so that they can get use to playing as a team. Not all 23 dress for each game, but all( unless injuries occur) will be going to the WC.
These will be the 23. These matches are solely to prepare a cohesive team for Germany. Unless there's an injury, the 23 named on the 2nd are the ones going.
seems like Dempsey is in , from what Bruce told him: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/soccer/national/2006-04-28-dempsey_x.htm
Landon's called up. I'm shocked. http://www.americansoccernews.net/mls/galaxy/060428_gal-rsl_adv.shtml
Neither of the two posts above say anything definitive except about Donovan. We all know that Clint is in but his articles doesn't confirm that. Neither do either artilces say anything definitive on the bubble players: Albright, Noonan, Twellman, Ralston, Reis.
I'm guessing that no MLS coach will let any "alternates" go for the camp. Steve Nicol, who'll likely be losing 3-5 players isn't going to let Steve Ralston miss 4 games just to act as practice fodder in Cary, NC.
I heard a rumor that Donovan will be on the team. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out for sure though.
