Does anyone take public transit to Galaxy games? If so, how do you get there? With so many other stadiums being built near public transit lines, I started thinking about how I would get to the HDC without driving. Seems like it would be pretty tough from the Valley. I think it'd be cool if there was a way to get there on light rail or subway, that way the supporters could take over the subway with our scarves and sing the whole way there, like they do in Toronto. I found this[PDF] map of a potential future light rail line, but it won't get you directly to the HDC.
I have a friend who would occasionally take public transportation from the valley. It's a long haul. Plan your trip (socaltransport.org) From Winnetka station in west San Fernando Valley: Starting at WINNETKA STA Ride Metro Orange Line( NORTH HOLLYWOOD STATION) heading east From: ORANGE LN TRAN WAY/PIERCE COLLEGE STATION(SE corner) Lv: 03:42PM To: ORANGE LN TRAN WAY/NORTH HOLLYWOOD STATION(SE corner) Ar: 04:18PM Pay $1.25, Monthly Pass: $62.00, (EZ Pass accepted) Ride Metro Rail Red Line( UNION STATION GATEWAY TRANSIT CENTER) heading east From: NORTH HOLLYWOOD STATION Lv: 04:23PM To: 7TH STREET/METRO CENTER STATION Ar: 04:47PM Pay $1.25, Monthly Pass: $62.00, (EZ Pass accepted) Ride Metro Local Line 52 (ARTESIA TRANSIT CTR) heading east From: 7TH ST/FLOWER ST(SE corner) Lv: 04:53PM To: VICTORIA ST/AVALON BLVD(NW corner) Ar: 05:54PM Pay $1.25, Monthly Pass: $62.00, (EZ Pass accepted)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Too funny.
Google Maps now has "biking" as an option for finding directions. Maybe it can take you on a tour through the nice parts of town They also have walking too! And if you are close enough, their public transportation option might work as well.
If you're coming from the Valley then it's a long trip. How far are you from the North Hollywood Red Line Station? I live in LA so I take the Metro Red Line to downtown and from there I take the 910 that drops me of in Carson. Or you could take the Red Line to Downtown and then the Blue Line to Artesia Station a few miles from the HDC, from there just take a Bus or if you carry a bike just bike it to the HDC.
I live literally right down the street on Avalon, but there is no way I am gonna pay 15 bucks to park every game! My gf and I are gonna be taking the MTA for a few games and getting off right in front of the HDC and the bus stop is also right in front of my home.
