(This message is from Huss and JonnyQuest and is being posted in each forum by the moderators.) Dear BigSoccer Members and Premium Members, As we hope you all know and appreciate, we are always striving to make BigSoccer the best community it possibly can be. One of the keys to our community is our moderators. They work hard to provide a fun and safe environment for everyone on the site. Of course, we realize things don't always go smoothly and that when some people have praise others have complaints. We are instituting a new procedure for reviewing our moderators, and that involves soliciting feedback from you. This is a serious excercise and we ask you to only participate if you take it seriously. We are asking you to post your praise and criticism, and suggestions, regarding the moderation of THIS PARTICULAR FORUM in this thread. Personal attacks will be binned (the mods have our approval to do this) and we are only looking for thoughtful criticisms or compliments. Though we'd prefer you didn't, if you are uncomfortable posting in public, please send EMAIL to help@bigsoccer.com. Thank you for your participation. Huss and JonnyQuest
Andy, you do a good job moderating this forum. And that is not just lip service because I mod another forum, it is serious... On a side note, the posters in the forum are excellent and I really enjoy the situation with people on both sides of the Pond commenting on the greatest football club in England! Cheers!
Let's admit it... Andy has one of the easier forums to moderate here. But he's always responsive, and his moderating is nice and unobtrusive. There are plenty of mods who let the job go to their heads. We've got one who lets a good forum run itself.
Well said, Ian. I was thinking of a way to say the same thing. Some mods seem to think the world revolves around them, but Andy's not that way. I almost forget he's around sometimes, but he's right there to merge threads or whatever when it's needed.
Andy? Who's Andy? Certainly not someone who posts very often......... Seriously though, I concur wholeheartedly with all previous statements, Andy while admittedly having a pretty easy task still does his job well. He's a minimalist which is how it should be. You're a good man Andy. Though don't let these kind words fool you, this does not preclude the many statements I have made alluding to my plans to usurp his position as an early step on my way to world domination.
I hereby second this motion, and I move that we give Andy the title of "Great Imperial Overlord of our Domain", or, simply, "The Guy who Has to Put Up with Us" BTW, Slip, very funny. My Coke came straight out of my nose when I read it...
Yeah, Andy has been doing good job cos he hasn't deleted/changed any of my posts as yet! What I've noticed, anyway... Who are Clanblue and Prenn? I don't think I've seen them posting in this forum ever since I've joined here and they're still the mods?
They probably wont post here much either. Mods of a forum are automatically mods of any sub forum. When the England:teams forums were created the mods of the Premiership forums were made into the mods of the teams forums. People weren't exactly thrilled with the idea of United supporters moderating a Liverpool forum and vice versa. The final decision was to make Prenn (a notlob supporter) the mod of the teams forum with others (such as myself) to mod the forum of thier particular team. Clanblue was just recently added as mod of the teams forum. BTW, thanks for the complements everyone. This is one of the easier forums to mod, but its even better when I see a troll post made into a half decent thread.
I'd say Andy moderates the same way the Gunners handle a football. With wisdom and style and speed and guile and most important with support of his "teammates". All of us gooners.
Like a good referee, you don't notice that Andy is moderating the forum. The most obvious football analogy ever, but true.
