(This message is from Huss and JonnyQuest and is being posted in each forum by the moderators.) Dear BigSoccer Members and Premium Members, As we hope you all know and appreciate, we are always striving to make BigSoccer the best community it possibly can be. One of the keys to our community is our moderators. They work hard to provide a fun and safe environment for everyone on the site. Of course, we realize things don't always go smoothly and that when some people have praise others have complaints. We are instituting a new procedure for reviewing our moderators, and that involves soliciting feedback from you. This is a serious excercise and we ask you to only participate if you take it seriously. We are asking you to post your praise and criticism, and suggestions, regarding the moderation of THIS PARTICULAR FORUM in this thread. Personal attacks will be binned (the mods have our approval to do this) and we are only looking for thoughtful criticisms or compliments. Though we'd prefer you didn't, if you are uncomfortable posting in public, please send EMAIL to help@bigsoccer.com. Thank you for your participation. Huss and JonnyQuest
Are you kidding? Moderators in this forum. Man, every time the subject gets slightly away from being a yank abroad, the thread gets moved. Man, talk about strict... Actually, I like the moderators on this board, specially the understanding between them. The fairness I have been shown, and the kind warnings have been very respectful.
Nutter, I think he meant where could he send you the check for buttering him up... as I shall do as well. Buff and Dark do a great job with this one. This might be the toughest board to moderate, atleast of the ones I frequent and they do it very well. ps send it to The Drunk Guy Wheelers Pub Fayetteville, NC.
This is a well moderated board. I don't spend a lot of time here, but when I want to see something about [Yank] who played on [date] it is very easy to find the appropriate thread since they are consistently named.
This is my favorite board on the site, mostly because folks tend to stay on track a bit more. I have never seen the bile, racism, sexism on the YA board I see. I post a lot on the DCU board and they have good threads and good moderators, but this is even better. Btw--I think it takes both good mods and good users to make a fun board, this has both.
Great job by dark night and Buff (who I sincerely thank for not killing me for repeatedly forgetting to return his tapes).
Actually, I think the mods here have gotten a little parochial. A little too heavy in the direction of moving and merging threads, IMHO. -Uniteo
I agree with the post that credited the users, too, but it seems clear that Bufflo and Dark Knight set the standards everyone else follows. What, has the Pop-a-Top Lounge closed?
Thanks for the comment. When you say gotten, are you thinking of a recent trend? I sort of felt like the trend was going in the other direction, i.e., things have eased up a little here. Just recently we got a complaint from the other end of the spectrum -- from someone who was unhappy that something off-topic was allowed to stay up for a little while. I do understand what you are saying generally and at times I agree with the perspective (just ask Buff), but the truth is, many people seem happy with a more buttoned-up forum.
I agree with that - here, sometimes its needed since threads can very easily and quickly go off topic and start talking what is going on in a similar thread or another board. Kinda easy since the topic is so narrow. question, how often does a thread get moved to yank's abroad?
