Dear BigSoccer Members and Premium Members,

As we hope you all know and appreciate, we are always striving to make BigSoccer the best community it possibly can be. One of the keys to our community is our moderators. They work hard to provide a fun and safe environment for everyone on the site. Of course, we realize things don't always go smoothly and that when some people have praise others have complaints.

We are instituting a new procedure for reviewing our moderators, and that involves soliciting feedback from you. This is a serious excercise and we ask you to only participate if you take it seriously. We are asking you to post your praise and criticism, and suggestions, regarding the moderation of THIS PARTICULAR FORUM in this thread. Personal attacks will be binned (the mods have our approval to do this) and we are only looking for thoughtful criticisms or compliments. Though we'd prefer you didn't, if you are uncomfortable posting in public, please send EMAIL to help@bigsoccer.com.

    Thank you for your participation.

    Huss and JonnyQuest

Since I'm here, I'll post. Disclaimer: I modded this forum for 16 months or so.

This forum has always been well moderated IMHO. Threads are kept on topic, with some leeway (IMHO a lot of times the posters themselves will steer it back, and also this is supposed to be fun) given when appropriate.

Completely off topic or troll-infested material has always been dealt with appropriately, but lighthearted trash talk and good fun have usually stayed put.

Bottom line, don't change a thing. Continue to take action when necessary, but one of the best attributes of this forum is the abscence of over heavy handed moderating. For the most part, the posters here help in this regard, but as an ex-mod, IMHO modding is about facilitating discussion and keeping things civil, not about playing "Thread Cop." The mods here do a great job of keeping things fun but civil.

Good Gawd! 15k+ posts?.. Oy! My fingers are tired from just *seeing* that!

Anyway, I have to agree, wholeheartedly. The playful trash-talk has been very-well done, and letting the 'thread topics' and 'posters' rule-the-day are well adhered to.

I just happen to have a common Moderator in both of my forums, and while it may be a strange coincidence; I'm quite glad that it has turned out that way.

'Heavy-handed' control has constantly been avoided, and not without the help of regular posters who value the widespread participation of a varied fan base.

    Kudos to all!

Legally? Nope, just to have your head above the bar and money on the table.

These forums get off topic? I've never noticed that.....
