(This message is from Huss and JonnyQuest and is being posted in each forum by the moderators.) Dear BigSoccer Members and Premium Members, As we hope you all know and appreciate, we are always striving to make BigSoccer the best community it possibly can be. One of the keys to our community is our moderators. They work hard to provide a fun and safe environment for everyone on the site. Of course, we realize things don't always go smoothly and that when some people have praise others have complaints. We are instituting a new procedure for reviewing our moderators, and that involves soliciting feedback from you. This is a serious excercise and we ask you to only participate if you take it seriously. We are asking you to post your praise and criticism, and suggestions, regarding the moderation of THIS PARTICULAR FORUM in this thread. Personal attacks will be binned (the mods have our approval to do this) and we are only looking for thoughtful criticisms or compliments. Though we'd prefer you didn't, if you are uncomfortable posting in public, please send EMAIL to help@bigsoccer.com. Thank you for your participation. Huss and JonnyQuest
As an ex-mod of this forum, I can be critical of things that aren't done the way I would like them to be done. But I think these guys are all doing a really fine job. I would like to see them be a little more proactive in closing or moving non-business threads. That's always the hard part. "But the article was IN the media, so it must belong here!" Keep fighting the good fight!
It seems to me as though the mods aren't always consistent about which threads they move to "Links and Articles" forum. Presumably, all (or at least the large majority) of threads based on a link or article should be moved to that forum. However, in practice in seems as though many threads based on an article manage to continue existing in the more popular main area of the B&M forum. Those unlucky threads that that the moderator (usually monster) apparently rather arbitrarily decides to send to the Links & Articles forum often die quickly due to the seeming lack of activity there.
Do Links and Articles postings show up on the front page? That might keep a few of them alive a bit longer. Unless of course L & A is designed to be a Siberia for certain kinds of posts. On to the topic: no complaints about the mods in this forum.
I rarely notice the moderators. I think that's about the most ringing...ing...est endorsement there is.
