Beasley scores in the 10th minute on a pass from Cocu to take the lead 1-0...

Hope this doesn't offend anyone (my posting UEFA news here) but I'm excited for DMB :)

I'm excited, too. Turns out it was the game winner.

Check out the intensity on his face.

How many Americans have scored goals in Champions League play?

I'm sure he miss kicked it or it would have landed in row 30

Just saw a video replay of the goal. GREAT composure by Beas but what a pass by Philip Cocu.

The timing was so PERFECT that it almost looked offside...to the "naked eye."

I'm so happy that Beasley is doing so well. Just wondering how far PSV & Beasley can go in the CL??

They are in great position to make the last 16. I assume they will probably be the underdog in the first knockout round, even if they win the group. But you never know. That was the conventional wisdom about Porto and Monaco last year.

I hope you're joking because Beasley isn't that bad at finishing. He was the US's leading scorer for this year quite a long time.

Jovan Kirovski is the only other American who's scored in the Champions League proper. (For Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinal, the year they won it, IIRC.) Reyna has scored several goals for Rangers in Champions League qualifying stages, and IIRC Sanneh scored one for Hertha Berlin in a Champions League qualifier.
