Thank you Voetbal International for your encouraging match preview. Apparently Twente's away record this season is the worst in two decades. What's more, we haven't beaten PSV in Eindhoven since 1973. Good God, they're going to slaughter us. I just know it.
PSV After last defeat I can not imaging that this time PSV drop some points, but in my mind it will be little score margin -> my scores guess 2:1, 2:0.
And you were also kind of unlucky to lose at Ajax today. It's not really that Ajax's win was undeserved or something (De Ridder post, Anastasiou cross-bar, Sonck header cleared off the line), but Twente definitely had chances and could have equalized in the last minute as Polak hit the bar with a long range shot. It could have ended differently. One thing, tho: I was extremely disappointed by the turnout of Twente fans. There were 100 or 150 supporters in the away section. That's total crap, really. Twente is one of the larger regional clubs in Holland, they know they can beat us (cos they did so in Enschede, in December) and they were 6th in the league before the game. Seems like the perfect day to come to Amsterdam with 1,000 fans or so. But no. It would certainly have helped. The atmosphere was pants today. Crap game also. Exciting, in the end, but crap (quality-wise). We won, but we looked like sh#t. K.
I wasn't there myself, my love life is a bit more important than Twente at the moment. Anyway, I did hear about the low turnout and the crap game. Our away games are cursed at the moment. Consider this though: Ajax treats Twente away supporters like a bunch of criminals. It's not exactly 'fun' to travel to Ajax on a combi-regeling, I know that from personal experience.
Oh well... Ajax has a certain 'hooligan element' and the same goes for FC Twente. It's quite logical and totally understandable that games between these two clubs are combis. Enschede-away is a combi for us, too. Not too much of a problem, I would say. I always travel with the same bus operator anyway, so I don't even notice the difference between a combi and a non-combi. I can't understand that almost the entire hard core of Twente supporters (Vak P, etcetera) decided to stay at home. No offense to you. I just don't get it. I would never stay at home for such a reason. K.
Oh, I wasn't saying that it's just Ajax that makes life difficult for away supporters. It's part and parcel of supporting a club with a fanatical fan base really, being treated like criminals when you're away from home. Apart from their annoyance with the combi-regeling, I don't quite understand why they all stayed at home myself. I'll ask around.
For some reason it doesn't seem to annoy me... I board my bus, get off at the opponent's ground, I get searched and they let me in. I never took that personally and I never felt like I was treated like a criminal, to be honest... But maybe that's just me. I hear the same complaints from many Ajax fans also: about grumpy policeman, etcetera. Personally I don't give a living crap about that. I just go to the game and after the game I go home. Most of the time I wouldn't even be able to tell whether the stewards and the police were friendly or not. It's just not in my system. K.
I'm like that too in general. But I did once spend four hours in the Arena away section without the officials allowing me to go to the bathroom which was very annoying. Ajax supporters were waiting for us outside and the bus company wouldn't go in and pick us up. Something similar happened to us in Groningen. I also remember the away section in our old stadium, looked like an animal cage. Terrible that was. Shame that a couple of idiot hooligans are screwing things up for the rest of us really.
