We all (especially the players) need to forget about everything that has happened before. This is the type of game players dream of. It’s been 4 years since this club has been in a Champions League quarterfinal. This is a team full of players who have played in games like this before. It’s also a team full of players who have not yet, and should be desperate to do so.

Ever since getting knocked out last season Arne Slot has been obsessed with the PSG team that beat him. Slot and the Liverpool hierarchy tried to build a team in PSG’s image. A team that could beat PSG. Instead what they got is a team incapable of competing in the Premier League. It would ironic if they were humbled by PSG once again.

Show some fight in Paris. Get a decent result. Then they will have Anfield behind them next week. Even in a this sad season, magic in European nights at Anfield is still possible.

I've decided to convince myself that the players gave up yesterday because they know they need to save energy for PSG. And we'll kill 'em.*

Total BS but what the hell :)

    * PSG that is!

It’s been a feature, not of bug, of Slot’s Liverpool this season, that usually a dogshit, get rid of him performance, is followed by measured, terrific performance. After that, I’ve got nothing.

I'd love to see a good performance... I'll take anything at this point. Even if it means a bad result next time. I'd just like to watch a game where the players come out motivated and maintain that level of intensity for the entirety of the game. I don't even care about a dominating score line, I just want to see a dominating performance for 90+ minutes.

Arne Slot on speaking about PSG a lot during the season:

“I didn't speak that much but maybe more than other games. The reason why was because at Anfield, we played better but in both games it was all about football. Now there are certain tactics you cannot do much about, time-wasting and so on. Last year was just going toe to toe to try and win it over two legs.”

That's the spirit!! I'm likely only gonna be able to tune itno the 1st half at work, as I've got a meeting - so make it worth my while to wait for the 2nd half this evening at home!!!
And the 2nd half game next week.

    Come on Reds!!!!

    Here we go.
I'll have it on my third screen as I work away - the first game I'll have seen live in months.
But I actually am relatively calm about this.

Gomez’ position is what to watch for. Will he be right back, or the left sided centerback in a back 3?

    Most reports saying it’s a back 3

Gomez is playing on the left side of a back 3. Two wing backs. First time we have seen this system.

Liverpool taking ages over a long throw after Arne Slot has spent the whole season complaining about other teams that play this way.

That was the first warning - their break was blocked.
