Verratti just hired Mino Raiola as his agent... He won't stay here much longer.

I really hope we don't waste that much money on one transfer.. Would be a total waste considering we have more than enough wide players on the left on the roster.

We need a phuckin proper central midfielder and right wing. Plus another striker since Nasser sold Augustin to RB Leizeg.(Coman 2.0)

Neymar "rumors" now have reached the point that they were mentioned (as rumors) during the broadcast last night from the match with Roma in Detroit. Re. post above, Verratti was among the stars not there or at least not in the squad.

Numerous sources, commentary on multiple ICC matches, and ESPN news 'crawler' all saying Neymar buy-out and transfer a done deal. Obviously more shoes to drop, of note Verratti with the squad in the USA but did not play again yesterday.

    Plop:
    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jul/31/psg-confident-deal-barcelona-neymar-plan-unveiling

"Paris Saint-Germain hope to conclude world record deal this week
    • Five-year contract for forward has been ready for several days"

(other shoe - same article) Plop:

" ... PSG are adamant they will respect financial fair play regulations. To make sure they do not expose themselves to sanctions they are preparing to sacrifice some members of the squad.
Ángel Di María carries the likely highest value, at around £45m, among the players the club are willing to sell. Serge Aurier is expected to leave for around £20m and Blaise Matuidi, who has one year left on his contract, could fetch a similar fee. Hatem Ben Arfa, Jesé and Grzegorz Krychowiak were already on the transfer list."

No mention of Verratti. Which means he's part of the deal or he's not leaving..

I find it hard to believe PSG can slide past FFP sanctions without letting go of Verratti.

From what I've read, FFP will have nothing to do with the fee. On paper, Neymar would arrive on a free. It's some slick accounting, that leaves none of PSG's fingerprints on that 220 mil plus taxes.

What UEFA do in the subsequent tantrum remains to be seen, but they look to be had on this one.

How would he arrive on free if Nasser is triggering his release clause? I'm curious on that.

The money is coming from somewhere else in the Qatar world as an ambassador fee for the 2022 WC. Nasser just so happens to benefit greatly from this coincidence.

That's what has Barça scrambling to get big brother UEFA to help them out.

Is that legal? Can a third party proprietor trigger his release clause?

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sp...uy-out-clauses-how-they-work-spanish-football

It's the way Spain handles release clauses. Money doesn't change hands between clubs. Selling club pays the player to buy out their own contract. The fees are calculated considering net worth, so that the only way a player can trigger their clause is with help from a purchasing club.

So in theory, any footballer in Spain could become Bill Gates's adopted son and buy out their own contract tomorrow. It just so happens Neymar's come into some money.

Turns out they didn't use accounting shenanigans to get it done. Neymar's fee will count an additional 40 mil against the books each year of his contract. Pretty standard stuff. There doesn't need to be a fire sale to get back on the right side of FFP, just the Aurier sale that was already happening.

Problem is.. Aurier's sell depends on his ongoing case in French judicial courts. If he was turned around from entering the UK how will he be sold to other non-French teams?

Yeah, that's a question that needs an answer. The front line is awfully crowded now too. Surely Verratti isn't on the way out after PSG publicly taunted Barça about their failed pursuit.

Lucas and Pastore have to be on their way out.

Di Maria and Ben Arfa are my second choices.

Out of those four I would predict Ben Arfa and Pastore, Lucas is a friend of Neymar's and Di Maria is his new best friend for assists.

Yea but Neymar plays on the left... Di Maria plays on the left... Draxler plays on the left.. Di Maria is absolutely ineffective in the center and the right in Unai's system. There's no real team building going on rn.

Not sure if even Unai knows that right now, and we may not learn much today due to the Spanish Federation not being as excited about this as some are. To me the team can't be built around any one player regardless of how much he costs. Emery has quality to choose from in all three lines and will also have one of the strongest benches in Europe. However Goalkeeper which certainly should be settled by the start of the season doesn't seem to be. We also don't know exactly who still may be on there way out but surely a few players are ... Neymar will deserve his '10' shirt when he makes the other players around him as much better as Ibra did -- not sure if anyone knows precisely who those players will be right now.

Looks like they're telling Di Maria to get used to the right wing, if today's lineup is any indication. He's versatile enough that you could be optimistic about it working out.

Blaise Matuidi will finally be joining Juventus from Paris SG for a transfer fees of £18.2 million. :(

One of the longest serving player among the current PSG squad, Matuidi has been with the club since 2011.

Is Adrien Rabiot ready to take over Maitudi place now ?
