Today is the Trophée des Champions against Lyon in Montreal, which will start off this new season. Here are the probable starting lineups according to paristeam: Paris SG : Trapp - Maxwell, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Aurier (ou Van Der Wiel) - Stambouli, Matuidi, Verratti - Lucas, Cavani, Ibra Olympique Lyonnais : Lopes - Jallet, Umtiti, Koné, Bedimo - Ferri, Gonalons, Tolisso - Benzia, Beauvue, Lacazette. I'm really confused why TS and DL are playing, especially after Blanc's comments about not wanting to repeat the same mistakes. They both only returned a little while ago and don't seem capable of playing 90 minutes. Marquinhos barely even played in the Copa, so why the hell not play him? Not to mention the fact that he should be a starter period. I thought he had already created a permanent spot for himself in either CB or RB, but recently it seems like Blanc is reverting back to old ways, which is a dumb move for everyone. Also, Cavani doesn't seem ready either and I personally would start Augustin.
Lyon players need 20+ fouls to get a card, Verratti needs just one What a horrible ref. Our players have been hacked at all game and they only have one YC
Red card for Lyon. Second yellow after a nasty studs up challenge Aulas must be happy he'll have an excuse
Hey guys, I'd like to know what your early impressions of Kevin Trapp are. Is he the long-term solution ?
He hasn't really been tested yet, but so far I like what I've seen. Once the season starts we'll have more of a chance to judge him.
Yes, I think so. Him dropping deeper is essential to be able to get the best out of Cavani and keep him happy. He's had an excellent preseason overall. I'm just now worried about whether he got injured today after all the rough challenges being thrown his way.
It would suck if he got injured. All that hard work gone. He had enough injuries to deal with last season
And there you have it... http://www.paristeam.fr/autour-du-p...himovic-le-geant-suedois-est-touche-18180.htm Now I'm really frustrated. I was happy we won the trophy, but now it doesn't seem worth it. I really wish they would just automatically award the trophy to any team that won everything or that they'd get rid of it. I mean, it is the trophy of champions and Lyon certainly weren't champions of anything. They played like such thugs yesterday (which is something I don't usually say about them) and I'm sure this is exactly what they wanted. On the other hand, a bigger dumbass award goes to "Ligue 1 Coach of the Year" Laurent Blanc for not taking Zlatan out! WTF?

Match day. Ibrah sits, I think they were trying to get him fully match fit so I'm not that upset he wasn't subbed earlier and it was a strain rather than a tear so he should be back fairly soon. It is a long campaign with multiple competitions so rotation is needed, he's just rotating out early. Question #1 for me is will we see Di Maria already at least as a late sub?
Yeah, it should be a few weeks before we see ADM make his debut. First day of the season is always exciting even if we are destined to get a draw. Allez Paris!
Trapp - Aurier, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Maxwell - Rabiot, Matuidi, Verratti - Lucas, Cavani, Pastore I mean really, it is really starting to be a problem that Marquinhos is back to the bench despite being absolutely phenomenal last season. If he tries to leave next summer, I will never forgive Blanc for that. Aurier has been doing well, so yes, he can start, but there's no reason why Luiz can't be moved to the midfield in order for Marqui to start alongside T.Silva. It's really starting to give me anxiety thinking about how much playing time Blanc is going to give Marquinhos. ALLEZ PARIS!
WOW! I really missed European Club Football. Haven't been on this forum in ages. Just sat down, enjoying PSG @ Lille.
