I definitely hope they can get off to a nice start. It bugs me when a club gets off to a nice startin the first month and some dumb media guy will say- but it IS only the first month. I will use what I witnessed in the Bundesliga as an example. Dortmund got off to a great first half and for a young team, that was super important. They gained momentum and didn't have to worry when things got a little closer later on.

I think it is super important to make all the transfer moves relatively early in the window and get everyone into camp and get training off with a bang.

Gameiro had a good entrance. He was fast and made perfect calls. Hope he can confirm it during "real" matches. Fielded with Ganso - if he comes to PSG - or Bodmer to provide him, he'll do great.

3-0 victory against Roma, have to say PSG looks pretty solid though only pre-season.

I was at the game today , we played with more or less a b-team which was disappointing but that's just me being selfish . Anyway I liked what I saw individually from the new players .

Menez was great . Was the best player , always dangerous .

    Bisevac was very solid .

Matiudi was ok but man , he looks so awkward with possession . He can't do much with the ball .

Sirigu didn't have anything significant to do except the goal but that was a good finish .

That's the new signings out of the way .

Now Erding , he was terrible ( as usual ) Just like from last season , he has problems controlling the ball and do anything significant with it . Giving the ball to Erding is basically giving away possession . The ball just doesn't stay with him . I hope Newcastle wasn't put off and will still chase him . We need to get rid ...

Luyindula wasn't any better either but he looked more dangerous than Erding . The reality is it doesn't say much . AK was asking for a disaster though playing two useless donkeys together .

I will be curious to see how Erdinc looks in a 433- he isn't going to Newcastle, they never could have afforded him anyway. With rich owners, they arent going to just give away players - they can wait until someone buys him. He has 10 caps for Turkey since 2008 which leads me to believe that he will continue to get some caps for them since Turkey doesnt have a ton of international strikers - hopefully he has some breakout game in Euro 2012 and we can sell him for something.

If we bring in Berbatov it wont make a difference because its going to relegate Hoarau to 3rd striker.

There is a big problem with the midfield. Chantome & Matuidi are horrible.
Lorient deserved to score this goal, they are playing well.

They're getting so much space it's ridiculous .

We simply don't have the players to play 4-4-2 , but we already knew this since last season

And you can see how limited Matiudi is when he has the ball . So awkward . I really do wonder how players like this make it pro , and it's so common in France . Athletes , not footballers ...

Actually, I find that he had no impact on the midfield. Chantome too is annoying. He's doing what I call "des fautes à la Pedretti", vicious fouls, that are not showing that he has character but rather that he has been beaten. His role is to be the joint between the midfield and the foward thus when he's associated to someone with not enough impact on the midfield it's very bad. It reminds me the pair Clement-Chantome. TBH, even in that role, he failed during the first half.
I hope it's just because of the pressure that Matuidi is that bad. It been years that PSG lacks of strength.

BTW, a little more defensive efforts from Nene & Menez on the wings would not hurt.

I would have rather seen a 4-2-3-1 with my beloved Bodmer to prepare the team for the future inclusion of Pastore and also because I rate Bodmer higher than Hoarau. Bodmer is the atypical player that you have to like, because he reads the game perfectly and has an amazing passing ability. Hope we'll see him during the second half.
