That's all I have. My daughter likes "Mario Kart" but it does not look like this is a PS2 title. They have a PS2.

So what games are good that are "like Mario Kart"?

PS2 does not have as many cartoon characters as Nintendo. They just don't market to the same audience.

As far as racing, Gran Turismo 4 is probably a great game, but very car specs oriented.

Apparently, "Jak" a character-driven game has released a new version, "Jak X: Combat Racing" which appears to be a cartoon racer. Check out the review here.

A new Sonic (the Hedgehog) racer looks like it will be coming out in Q1 2006. This will probably be the closest to Mario Kart for the PS2.

There might be an old (maybe ther are sequels?) Crash Bandicoot racing game for PS2. I think I played its first iteration back when I reviewed games. Kids like it. Adults, not so much.

Yeah that old Crash game is pretty close, it is, like has been said, Old though. But is your daughter old enough to notice or is she not into graphics all that much?

Still a quality game to entertain kids with IMHO, and myself when I get really really really bored...

Thanks for the tips. She may be more into graphics than she lets on. Todays 12 year olds are pretty damn sophisticated.

I did let her know that Mario Kart was not a PS2 and she said "Oh, yeah. I guess I will just have to play it at Andrea's house."
