http://dcunited.com/index.cfm?section=main&cont_id=177493 "United has partnered with marketing teachers in several Fairfax County Public Schools to create a new program designed to help students learn real-life applications in the field of Sports Marketing" Real smart move IMHO, what better way to promote that to get one of your target groups to come up with and implement marketing for you. Hey Thamlin, you in on this?
I want to take sports marketing in college actually. VCU has a marketing program, but its not what i need for my advanced knowledge in the sport of sports. er. um.. good job dc front office. Need an intern?
When my dad was a Fairfax County Cop, we use to get free tix to DC sports teams teams games United, Caps, Wizards, they we were all free. But now that he retired we have to pay. Back to the topic, I think its a good idea to get Ffx county kids involved, Fairfax is one of the riches counties in the country and getting it behind DC Untied would be a great idea.
I took Sports Marketing I and II my Sophomore and Junior years of High School, respectively. Unfortunately, neither of those is this year and so this program doesn't really help me too much.
Great idea! Nice catch Hezbolt. I really like the cool posters that I've seen on the bus stops. IMHO, those are excellent ideas and the visuals on them are top notch. Well done indeed. And don't forget, today is a GAME DAY, so fly your DC United Car Flag! I'd like to see player-specific flyers to more specific target audiences. Obviously every group has a slightly different target audience, so we should play to their interest. For example, we need to get information about the game to the local youth teams and their parents. Flyers with Convey, Santino, Eliseo and Rimando would likely be effective. For groups of female fans perhaps action photos of Nelsen and Petke would work. In areas where specific nationalities are prominent we could market players with those backgrounds. In Baltimore we could focus on Santino. Wherever there are a lot of UVa alumni we could feature Olsen. Concentrating on the new and relatively new players might re-kindle ambivilent fans interest again. These are just some of the ideas that these able FFX county kids can use to generate marketing programs. -Digital
