Me dan verguenza. Acaso... ENCARGENSE DE CONTRATAR UN TECNICO PARA LA SELECCION EN VEZ DE HABLAR ESTUPIDECES Y ENSUCIAR EL NOMBRE DE NUESTRO PAIS!! POR FAVOR!!!!

This is just a dumb idea. I guess this would mean that Brazil and Argentina would not make the world cup since 5 South American sides would allready be in the tourney as hosts.
Could be, then again, FIFA has also said that they didn't more joint bids anymore. Maybe someone could comment in the next few days.
after all this is not a crazy idea! 36 teams and 5 or even 6 countries to host a grp or 2, not bad for the peruvian idea od last december
Distance would definitely become an issue in a five-country bid. Then again, the same issue could arise in Brasil unless they limit the cities to Sao Paulo, Rio, Porto Alegre and two more southern cities. But I have a feeling that cities in the Northeast and the Amazon basin are going to want a part of the WC in a Brasil bid, which would result in a travelling nightmare. The real problem I have with the 5-country bid is that some of the games would be played in very high-altitude cities like Quito, La Paz and Bogotá or Cuzco. I doubt FIFA would be pleased to sanction a match involving two low-altitude nations who would end up huffing and puffing at the end. I'm OK with it in the Qualifiers but not when the world's attention is on a WC match. My idea is to limit it to two countries: Colombia/Venezuela or Colombia/Ecuador or Ecuador/Perú. The cities would be in relatively low altitudes or altitudes which won't affect the players much: Medellin, Caracas, Bucaramanga, Guayaquil, Manta, Portoviejo, Cali, Barranquilla, San Cristóbal, Maracaibo, Lima, Callao. I really don't want games at Bogotá, Manizales, Quito or Cuzco. In such cases, the capitals shouldn't matter. Play all games at night to counter the heat factor. So what if Europe would have to see games at 3am. People everywhere are willing to stay up late for the WC.
