And they're going to do it by beating Los Angeles - yet again! Here's how I know this ... I clicked on the View New Posts link and noticed a thread on the rivalry board titled "OFFICIAL - "Who's going to punt LA out of the playoffs this year?" thread". Well, who can resist a thread like that? On that thread I saw this post ... https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11331 I was looking at that post - and looking and looking and then I saw it ... Year ---- Team that ends LA's playoff run 1996 ---- DC 1997 ---- DA 1998 ---- CH 1999 ---- DC 2000 ---- KC 2001 ---- SJ 2002 ---- ?? Isn't it obvious? Look at the pattern. Every three years DC United defeats LA in the final. So no worries from here on out. You can't argue with fate. Right?
Not to mention, we're still the only team to lift the MLS Cup in Foxboro. And we beat LA both times. Sachin
To the immortal tune "West Virginia" sung by John Denver (was not his real last name) and written by someone else: Foxboro, In the Fall That's the Place We'll Win It All D-C United, We'll Beat LA Once Again, At Foxboro
I did that especially for you Dave, as I know how much you LOVE John Denver. Just give me a minute and I'll come up with one to Gramma's Featherbed. Tim
As long as you stay away from Annie's Song... "You run up the scoreboard And crash in the goalmouth" Where's that gun I asked for?! Dave
You're welcome! I actually got the song title wrong: I'm pretty sure that it's "Country Road." Glad to help, Tim
