I occasionally listen to Sean Hannity on my commute home, I must be masochistic, just to see what the moe ron has to say. Yesterday, he announces on the air that he is fed up with Bush and switching sides to vote for Kerry. People with the intelligence of a fruit fly would figure it's April Fools Day and dismiss him. You should've seen the number of callers that fell for it and called in outrage. Even Hannity seemed embarrassed with his fans... For those who are not familiar, Hannity is a Rush wannabe.
Well, it looks like Hannity & Co. don't have any monopoly on idiocy: http://asmallvictory.net/archives/006355.html#006355 http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2004/4/1/144156/3224/16
The small victory site is lots of fun. If you read through it appears that Michelle has tried to block a poster based on his IP address and is then confused as to why it may not be working. Great fun!
Hannity endorsed Kerry! Wow! Hannity endorsed Senator Kerry? That is a huge blow to the president's reelection chances.
Which raises a certain point about this thread. It's silly. The only possible retort from the right would be a hearty "oh yeah? says who?". To which the left would respond: "Yo Mama". This thread, (and especially the title with its uncreative use of language and big capital letters) is unaesthetic. It looks like the silliness you see at the bottom of "Yahoo! News" articles. We have some standards here.
Except that Hannity's liberal counterpart, Alan Colmes, did the same thing on his show and got the same amount of "believers". And, how about the people who thought Howard Stern was really dropped? Or, the tools who actually believed that Big Soccer was sold to Anschutz Entertainment Group?
Agreed. This year produced a larger than average amount of April Fools rubes. I don't know if it was just that the pranks were more creative this year or if the populace in general is just getting dumber, but more people fell for more pranks than any year in my recent memory.
Have you guys listened to Michael Savage? Talking about idiots. I listen to WRKO sometimes wow this guy is a complete nuts. How could they let him go online? What he said the other night was - if one doesn't get his way, kill everybody. And he proposed firebomb fullujah destroying the whole city. He is an idiotic rightwing extremist. Hatred is all that's left in him.
First off I would like to say that you all are off based. I doubt that you will read what i have to say but here it is. Kerry's Voting Record on Defense.... Kerry has voted for at least SEVEN major reductions in Defense and Military spending, necessary for our national security: 1) In 1996 - Introduced Bill to slash Defense Department Funding by $6.5 Billion. 2) In 1995 - Voted to freeze Defense spending for 7 years, slashing over $34 billion from Defense. 3) Fiscal 1996 Budget Resolution - Defense Freeze. "Harkin, D-Iowa, amendment to freeze defense spending for the next seven years and transfer the $34.8 billion in savings to education and job training." 4) In 1993 - Introduced plan to cut numerous Defense programs, including: * Cut the number of Navy submarines and their crews * Reduce the number of light infantry units in the Army down to one * Reduce tactical fighter wings in the Air Force * Terminate the Navy's coastal mine-hunting ship program * Force the retirement of no less than 60,000 members of the Armed Forces in one year. 5) Has voted repeatedly to cut Defense spending, including: * In 1993, voted against increased Defense spending for Military Pay Raise. Kerry voted to kill an increase in military pay over five years. * In 1992, voted to cut $6 billion from Defense. * In 1991, voted to slash over $3 Billion from Defense. Shift money to social programs. * In 1991, voted to cut defense spending by 2% * Voted repeatedly to cut or eliminate funding for B-2 Stealth Bomber * Voted repeatedly against Missile Defense - Weapons Kerry sought to phase out were VITAL in Iraq. "[K]erry supported cancellation of a host of weapons systems that have become the basis of US military might-the high-tech munitions and delivery systems on display to the world as they leveled the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein in a matter of weeks." (Brian C. Mooney, "Taking One Prize, Then A Bigger One," The Boston Globe, 6/19/03) * Military hardware he felt we no longer need since the "cold war" is past. The money would be better spent on "social" programs. These weapons are now the core of our military might. o F-16 Fighting Falcons. o B-1Bs B-2As F-15 And F-16s o M1 Abrams o Patriot Missile o AH-64 Apache Helicopter o Tomahawk Cruise Missile o Aegis Air-Defense Cruiser 6) During 1980s Kerry And Michael Dukakis joined forces with liberal group dedicated to slashing Defense. Kerry sat on the board of "Jobs With Peace Campaign," which sought to "develop public support for cutting the defense budget..."("Pentagon Demonstrators Call For Home-Building, Not Bombs," The Associated Press, 6/3/88) 7) While running for Congress in 1972, Kerry promised to cut Defense Spending. "On what he'll do if he's elected to Congress," Kerry said he would 'bring a different kind of message to the president." He said he would, "Vote against military appropriations." ("Candidate's For Congress Capture Campus In Andover," Lawrence [MA] Eagle-Tribune, 4/21/72) "So you can look at all the potential threats of the world, and when you add the expenditures of all of our allies to the United States of America, you have to stop and say to yourself, 'What is it that we are really preparing for in a post-cold-war world?'" (Sen. John Kerry, Congressional Record, 5/15/96, p. S5061) If you support our troops you will not support Kerry, if you are a true american and not a butt kissing suck up that does not want to do anything with out UN approval then you will not support Kerry. If you care about this wonderful country then you will not support Kerry. "I voted for the 87 Billion before I voted against it" "Back then medals and ribbons were interchangeable" "I own SUV's and support this industry" (Speaking to a group of Car manufactures) "I dont own any SUV's" (On earth day) "My family owns them" (When questioned on his last two statements) I have a question for Kerry is he not part of his family??? There is no bigger Flip-Flop than Kerry!!! *conSERVEative
OK, so now we know Hannity's BigSoccer screen name. Tell me, Mr. Hannity, who said these: "After completing 20 planes for which we have begun procurement, we will shut down further production of the B-2 bomber. We will cancel the small ICBM program. We will cease production of new warheads for our sea-based ballistic missiles. We will stop all new production of the Peacekeeper [MX] missile. And we will not purchase any more advanced cruise missiles. … The reductions I have approved will save us an additional $50 billion over the next five years. By 1997 we will have cut defense by 30 percent since I took office." "Overall, since I've been Secretary, we will have taken the five-year defense program down by well over $300 billion. That's the peace dividend. … And now we're adding to that another $50 billion … of so-called peace dividend." "Congress has let me cancel a few programs. But you've squabbled and sometimes bickered and horse-traded and ended up forcing me to spend money on weapons that don't fill a vital need in these times of tight budgets and new requirements. … You've directed me to buy more M-1s, F-14s, and F-16s—all great systems … but we have enough of them." Also who testified in favor of plans to cut Army divisions by one-third, Navy aircraft carriers by one-fifth, and active armed forces by half a million men and women? Answers here: http://slate.msn.com/id/2096127 Now can you stop lying by trying to paint Kerry as a wuss. If you want to see a real wuss, go look in the White House. There's a guy in there who strutted around in a flight suit he'd dishonored thirty years before while saying "bring it on" and then flip flopped by getting us humilitated by a two-bit Iraqi warlord. It's a wonder Bush hasn't snapped whatever spinal cord he has left flip flopping while making a complete mess of Iraq. Speaking of the word "mess", guess who called Bush's occupation of Iraq exactly that? Was it Noam Chomsky? Hilary Clinton? Jacques Chirac? Nope. According to an Associated Press story on April 14, 2004, it was Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, a Republican ally of President Bush. Pawlenty called Iraq "a mess". "People are becoming unnerved by it," said Pawlenty, who also is co-chairman of Bush's state campaign. "Minnesota communities are strong and tough, but people do want to know, 'What's the end game here?'" See, even Bush's friends are realizing what a crappy President he is. Now go back to embarrassing your drooling, dittohead fans.
Knowing the intellect of the audience you're asking, give them a fighting chance. Spot them a few letters D_C_ C_E_EY
Ok who said "I own many SUV's" while speaking to crowd and less than three months later on earth day said that he owned no SUV's. When he was questioned on this he said that they were his families SUV's. I have a question for him is he not part of his family??? In case you didnt figure out who I am talking about it is John Kerry.
Am I the only one who sees that all those votes for cutting DoD spending occured after the Cold War ended? You know, that time period when we had no real enemy so there was no need to have this massive military.
Yeah, but who said, "Shut your stinking hole with this inane waste of an end of a thread...?" Oh...that would be me.
I'm not going to read this thread, so I don't know if anyone has said this. Who needed proof that Hannity/Rush/O'Reilly/Coulter/etc fans were idiots.
Obviously "CONservative" never hipped on to that point, which was Cheney's and Powell's argument for shrinking the military. What a couple of flip-floppers.
That would be the AP wire. Kerry says he doesn't own an SUV Associated Press. New York: Apr 23, 2004.
I meant that I wanted the sources for Kerry's comments, not Bush's alleged quotes. With links please.
like lemmings to the sea .... Conservative - It's like zombies have taken over the democratic party ... repeat "I hate G.W. Bush ... anybody is better ... I will elect Sadaam ... anybody is better... other mindless rantings" The major media sends out video waves at the viewers that turn their minds to mush when stationed in front of thier channels too long. I'm afraid there is no cure, it's looking pretty dismal ... "must attack ... must attack..."
