Not benched yet, with a chance to shine against the most ridiculous team of the YA transfer window, Blackburn. 🔢This is how the #Bluebirds line-up this evening!#CityAsOne | @iPROHydrate pic.twitter.com/1AIsQnkY9o— Cardiff City FC (@CardiffCityFC) February 20, 2024
C'mon Ethan. Not on ESPN+ I don't think so I won't be watching but I'm really hoping Ethan has a strong performance today.

Shot on goal finally, around the 68' mark, and Ethan got it. About to end. Typical Ch'ship game, Cardiff was a bit unlucky. 0-0.
Ethan Horvath earned City a point with this superb save - the best moment of quality in the game. My first close look at the new keeper. Very sharp off his line to claim a few box-edge through balls. One ridic backheel pass under pressure. Confident and solid. pic.twitter.com/5Cvu2M44XM— Gavin Allen (@Gavinallen) February 20, 2024 Sounds like a nice bounceback.
Horvath and back heel pass together just gives me butterflies... even if he pulled it off today... Super happy about the save and shoutout, however.
Overdue for a title change ... @dark knight Promotional hat-trick! Ethan Horvath at Cardiff City FC Nice BBC piece on Horvath, with quotes and a career summary: Ethan Horvath: Goalkeeper eyes hat-trick of promotions at Cardiff City "When I first went to Luton, for myself, thoughts about promotion were not there. It was about minutes. What happened, happened, and I'm happy that they're in the Premier League. "Coming here, I don't see why not, I see a lot of quality in the players. There's a project in place so hopefully, we can have a very strong finish to the season, and let's see what happens in the summer. I don't see why we can't make a push for the top six." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68383380
Horvath starts! Cardiff City (14th) hosting Stoke City (19th). Must win these home matches against lower-table teams.
Horvath has a pbp thread, which we could revive if there's interest (and someone is watching). 2-1 Cardiff at HT, up 2-0, then conceded on a PK - good practice!
Finishes 2-1. Only goal Ethan allowed was a rebound off a nice fk save. He had 5 saves w/ almost a full 2 goals prevented per Sofascore. Starting as late as he did, this is really going to test his powers of getting Championship teams promoted. I think he would have pulled it off if Forest hadn't stashed him as a just-in-case backup.
Guess it wasn't a pk, but a free kick he made a nice first save on, but they banged home the rebound. About an equal amount of complicity as a PK, so same difference. Bae Jun Ho Cardiff City 2-1 Stoke City pic.twitter.com/wNjnOUlwmd— Goals Galore (@GoalsGalorecom) February 24, 2024
No longer shows as a PK on the ticker, for obvious reasons. Could have done better there to push the initial shot wider, not back into traffic.
Horvath starts! in the Championship’s featured early game, Cardiff City (T-11th) visiting Bristol City (T-11th). Still 0-0 at halftime.
And middlesbrough one stoke city slip away from jumping them!! It ain't easy in the middle of the Cola pack! (BTW very happy for Horvath to put in a few good shifts. Hope he maintains his form.)
In a derby too! If he played well in this one, the fans will be won over and forgive quite a lot over the next few weeks.
Always good to store some credit up for the next howler! Seriously though, just win baby. Come on Ethan!
