Apparently, according to a U18 camp roster: GOALKEEPERS (4): Santiago Castano (New York Red Bulls; Union City, N.J.), Ethan Horvath (Stoke City, Eng; Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Zackary Steffen (Philadelphia Union; Downington, Pa.), Jacole Turner (Sporting KC; Lee’s Summit, Mo.) http://www.ussoccer.com/News/U-18-MNT/2012/03/U18-MNT-to-Meet-for-Training-Camp.aspx A big '95 from Colorado: http://ussda.demosphere.com/teams/27484436/27484647-27484529/18527448.html
http://playerocity.com/PLAYERVIDEOS...17/Ethan-Horvath-Bristol-City-March-2011.aspx I actually think Ethan's at Bristol City not Stoke. Here's some footage of Ethan. It appears he's been there since March of 2011. I believe he played for Real Colorado and if so, I remember this phenomenal keeper, when I reffed (and coached) in the Rush Cup. Crazy wingspan, IIRC and a commanding force in the box.
Ethan's USSDA profile says he trained at Bristol City last March. But I haven't yet found evidence of him at either club in 2012.
U.S. Soccer now has Horvath at Real Colorado Academy... http://www.ussoccer.com/News/U-18-M...Perez-Names-Roster-for-Lisbon-Tournament.aspx
Molde @MoldeFootball USA U19's 17 year old goalkeeper, Ethan Horvath, has come to the club. He might join the 3 other GK's for Copa del Sol (pre season cup).
Listed at Molde FK for his U18 callup http://www.ussoccer.com/news/u-18-mnt/2013/05/u18-mnt-commence-10-day-trip-to-portugal.aspx
http://www.rbnett.no/100Sport/fotball/eliteserien/article376843.snd Horvath has officially signed with Molde. Having seen Ethan play the kid is very, very good. He has a rawness to him but certainly, with a little coaching, he can become a productive professional. Despite the rawness, he has a butt load of confidence which a plus. Oh and it's nice to have a Colorado kid across the pond. It's been a while. The last two were probably Conor Tobin, now of MN United FC, and Nat Borchers. Of course on the ladies side, Lindsey Horan, is making waves at PSG. She's bucking all trends of women's soccer going straight from H.S. to PSG
I just used the workaround (move all the posts in the thread to a new thread with the right title). You can't touch this.
He was on the bench for them recently. However Molde has a 22 and 23 year old in front of him so playing time will be very limited if at all.
Sure enough, vs. Sogndal on 8/10: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/sogndal-il-molde-fk/index/spielbericht_2298042.html
http://www.soccerbyives.net/2013/11...l-based-squad-for-u-s-u-20-camp-in-italy.html Horvath has been selected by Ramos for the upcoming U-20 trip to Italy from Nov. 10-20 to face the U-2o sides of Hellas Verona, Iran, and TBA opponent.
In a friendly on Thursday, Horvath was given a start by Molde against Lokomotiv Moscow, who are currently in first place in Russia. Molde lost 1-0, with the only goal coming from a PK. If I'm parsing Google Translate correctly, this article says that he was solid but not severely tested. http://www.bt.no/100Sport/fotball/f...-av-Molde-tross-tap-423069_1.snd#.UxHXz-NdWbM For a keeper who's only 18 years old, this sounds awfully promising.
Highlights where he does pretty good except where he trucks the guy http://www.fclm.ru/ru/media/loko_tv/
Indeed, it's a good sign. Last year, Molde's regular starting GK got hurt in the second game of the season and missed the rest of the campaign. The #2 didn't last long and eventually the job was won by the delightfully-named Ørjan Håskjold Nyland. Nyland also was Norway's starter at the UEFA U21 tournament in 2013, during which they reached the semifinals and he's entered the full NT picture, making his debut in January. I'm no Norwegian expert, but various articles describe him as the keeper of the future and possibly the keeper of now, given that the incumbent starter is on the bench at Hertha Berlin. The old #2 is gone, but the veteran starter is back from injury and Nyland looks like the main man. There's also another 1995 on the roster, although he's not the one getting starts against Lokomotiv Moscow. So Horvath has moved from #4 to #3, it seems, but with a tough incumbent to beat. That's always to be expected, though, and if this Nyland is really that great a bigger club will come calling anyway. I'd say it might be a nice time for Horvath to go on loan, but Molde II play in the third level, so unless some Adeccoligaen team really wants to start him, I suppose there's no point.
Not sure who the veteran starter is/was, but Horvath made the bench for the opener (with Nyland starting, as expected).
The veteran I was referring to is Espen Pettersen. Looks like he's still struggling to come back from a leg break that occurred last April. As long as Pettersen is on the shelf, it looks like Horvath is the clear-cut #2. Here's a broader article about Molde:
Horvath was on the bench for the 2 legs of Molde's Europa League 2nd Qualifying Round. They advanced past ND Gorica and will play FC Zorya Luhansk of Ukraine in the next round.
